The Cookie that’s More Addictive Than Cocaine

Post by Taco »

There's two foods I'm addicted to, cookies and potato chips. Just stay the hell away from them!

Sometimes NOTHING is as good as a home-made Chocolate Chip cookie. No way I can eat just one so I have to stay away completely.

Interesting that they compared cookies to cocaine. In reality, Obesity (much of which is caused by bad diet) kills WAY more people than all illegal drugs combined.

Having craving for certain foods are signs that they are addictive & have ingredients that cause this 'want'. If you pull 10 of your favourite foods, the ones you have cravings for & check the ingredients you will notice similar chemicals & preservatives listed in them. That's no coincindence. That's evidence of strategic sales.

Let's see..

These are the foods that I crave the most (especially since most of these foods I can't get in China):

--Mrs. Field's Cookies

--Five Guys Hamburger

--Double Whopper (I recently found a Burger King near my home in Shenzhen, and boy, did that Double Whopper taste especially delicious after not having had it for so long...It was so good!)

--Uno's Deep Dish Pizza

--'New York Style' Pizza's (There's a great pizza restaurant in Shenzhen that specializes in New York Style Pizza: It's called the "NYPD Pizza." Highly recommended. They also deliver and they even have an English only phone number, too!

--Mister Softee Ice Cream (you know...the White truck that goes around the neighborhood with the cone-head logo).

That list is so toxic lol ... Hey aren't you in China, they've got such great food there, I envy you. I haven't had good authentic Chinese in ages. I've tried making my own & it always tastes different. Could be the lack of ingredients & spices. Cravings tend to stop if you stay away from the foods that cause it & replace those foods with stuff that you like.

Yeah, China has some really good food, with lot's of variety and different regional cuisines. You know...I've been able to lose 15 pounds--just by eating healthy Chinese food, and cutting down on eating any kind of fattening American/Western food. It's just that...sometimes, I crave American junk-food from time-to-time. LOL!

GUY, you are too Americanized. Five Guys is not all that. LOL Okay so the free salty peanuts at Five Guys are tasty-as-hell while you wait for your order. lol...and I'm saying this as an unadulterated foodie!!! Double whopper? Geesh, guy. LMAO I cannot breathe. Wow. Mrs Field's cookies are soft and gooey as all-get-out, but I stay away from them on purpose. lol

Man, don't be hatin' on Five Guys! Their food is pretty hot! Only thing that's keeping me away is that goddamn price for a combo! Who's f***ing idea was THAT!? :D

Might as well go to NY Fried Chicken for a cheap combo! Which was funny, as it was right down the street from Five Guys. All the chocolate M&Ms were hanging out there, while you only saw empty stools at Five Guys - good thing was, you don't have to wait in line. But their pricing is NOT working for them.

I wasn't hating on Five Guys, but I wasn't saying they were all that and a bag of chips as the antiquated slogan goes. #Reread otra vez hahaha lol

But seriously - all jokes aside - there's so much better food on the planet than American food. Yes, there's solemnly good food in the U.S. of Gay, but try Pakistani/S. Indian food...try Lebanese food (#delish).......hell I bet Turkish food wasn't too shabby either. Costal Ecuadorian food is on-par with Latin-Caribbean food (i.e. PR, Cuba, DR)....and I love some arroz con habichuelas y pollo....alcupurria....bacalao (fried spineless catfish)... etc.

E Irizarry yeah nothing beats authentic hot dishes. Turkish food is healthy but it lacks spices. I tend to make my own versions of recipes to suite my taste. I've taken a fancy of Morocan food & well anything similar to Chinese cusine I tend to like.

You nailed it; hot authentic dishes from any culture trump anything else that's not!
Some of the best Chinese food I ever had in my life was when I had gone to Juarez, Mexico last week.
Things taste better when they aren't overpriced. I'm just saying lol

Zboy coconut water satisfies cravings. When ever you feel like going burger king have a coconut water or 2 :) . It works.

E Irizarry and there's nothing more affordable than cooking it yourself ;) A good practice is to make sure half of your plate is raw. This can be salads, fruit, nuts & seeds. Home made V8 juices & fresh juice can account for raw' as well.

True but you didn't have to hijack what I just said ;-)
