Q: Are u supposed to always take medicine on empty stomach?

I have two questions.

1. Are you always supposed to take medicine on an empty stomach? I heard it makes more sense to do so, since your digestive system is not digesting food at the same time, so it will process the medicine more efficiently. But is that true for all medication? Are there some that's supposed to be taken with food?

2. Is it ok to take medicine with juice or milk? Or always with water only? Dianne often prefers to use milk or juice to down medicine, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or if it would interfere with its effectiveness.

Anyone know?
