Jamesbond,

Check out this 1972-3 series called Ghost Story, which was later renamed Circle of Fear. It has a lot of creepy ghost stories that scare you without using any special effects, which was what was brilliant about the 70s, unlike today where they have to rely on CGI to scare you. It was hosted by Winston Essex. Here are playlists for the series. Each episode is 50 min.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... EMMG_rA_ej

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... QumWGp50gZ

Here's the first episode.

This is the pilot episode that was aired before the first episode in 1972. It's about a couple that moves into a haunted house in a small town. The wife in it is very pretty and feminine.

Didn't the women in the 1970s look a lot more down to earth, like they were a lot easier to vibe with and connect with? Modern women are like a totally different species huh? lol. Even though the women in these TV shows and movies were acting of course, you can still tell that there is something different about them, like they were a lot more real and natural and normal and easy to vibe with and connect with, flirt with, get intimate with, get along with, etc. You know what I mean? Do you get the same impression when watching movies and TV shows from the 70s?

This looks suspenseful too. I love thrillers on trains. This one is in Europe.

Night Train Murders (1975) Full Film

Interestingly enough, the movie is based on the plots of Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin Spring and Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left. It has too many alternative names: Last Stop on the Night Train, The New House on The Left, Second House on The Left, Don't Ride on Late Night Trains, Late Night Trains, Last House Part II, and Xmas Massacre.

A pair of psychotic hoodlums and an equally demented nymphomaniac woman terrorize two young girls on a train trip from Germany to Italy.

Just saw this. It was very disturbing. Most people will find it too disturbing to watch. There's a long scene where two girls were terrorized and raped by two thugs and one sicko woman who joined them. If any of you like disturbing and shocking films, this is up your alley. You will love this. It would never be made today. The rape and brutalization scene in the train is really long and would be too much for today. It's similar to "The Last House on the Left" which has a similar plot. It's hard to believe that a well dressed woman would willingly participate in that too.

Some TV movies from the early 70s about werewolves. No CGI or special effects. Just good stories and characters. The quality of movies was so much better back then.

Wow this 1982 TV movie looks scary and it has all the TV commercials in it too, which look wholesome and nostalgic! There sure were many good TV movies in the past. TV used to be a lot better than it is now. That's for sure.

Cry for the Strangers - 1982 CBS Saturday Night Movie

(TV movie) A Psychiatrist (Patrick Duffy) and his wife move into a quaint coastal town only to discover that a sinister presence lurking there. This is the Original Dec.11,1982 CBS broadcast with commercials..followed by a few minutes of local news.

Jamesbond, have you seen this one? It's one of my favorite Hammer films, called "Twins of Evil" from 1971. The twin girls in it look so beautiful. They were the first twins to be featured in Playboy magazine I heard. It stars Peter Cushing as the vampire hunter. A good quality copy of it has been uploaded on YouTube below.

Twins of Evil (1971)

Set during the 17th century in Styria, identical twin sisters Maria and Frieda Gelhorn move from Venice to Karnstein in Central Europe to live with their uncle Gustav Weil after becoming recently orphaned. Weil is a stern Puritan and leader of the fanatical witch-hunting 'Brotherhood'. Both twins resent their uncle's sternness and one of them, Frieda, looks for a way to escape. Resenting her uncle, she becomes fascinated by the local Count Karnstein, who has the reputation of being "a wicked man".

Wow this one looks really good, spooky, dark, and eerie. It has a great sense of dread and is very atmospheric. They don't make them like this anymore.

Messiah of Evil (1973)

"Terror you won't want to remember - In a film you won't be able to forget.
A young woman goes searching for her missing artist father. Her journey takes her to a strange Californian seaside town governed by a mysterious undead cult."

Some great comments about this movie.

This is a surprisingly good movie. It's well shot with creative use of camera. Acting is solid - there is an odd ambiguity between the main characters that the actors play out well. The whole movie has a dream-like surreal atmosphere. The supermarket scene is very well done - some great editing and pacing here. This is a movie that implies horror as much as illustrating it.

Outstanding horror film. It has its rough parts (I especially thought the ending felt weird/rushed), but overall it's a master class in how to create fear and suspense through sheer dread. The directors seemed to have a good understanding that not showing everything and letting the viewer's imagination fill in the blanks is often the way to go. The movie is low on pictured gore, but the implied violence is intense; it has no nudity yet manages to feel very sensual at times. And something as banal as allowing a movie theater to fill up over two minutes can be more effectively frightening than a dozen rubber demons attempting jump scares.

This is hands down, the best zombie flick I've ever seen. Zombie movies have NEVER scared me, but this one is truly atmospheric and creepy. Especially that scene with them in the movie theater!

One of the best ones I've seen on my horror film binge. The stunts were impressive, the movie theater scene was scary and well performed. And the art in this film was really cool and unique! Not my personal taste, but it was still pretty cool stuff.

Jamesbond,
This looks really cool. The narrated intro at the beginning about Gargoyles is really rad. Check it out.

Gargoyles (1972)

An anthropologist and his daughter, while traveling through the southwestern US, stumble upon a colony of living gargoyles, who only want to be left alone.

There was nothing better than being a kid in the early 70's, getting to stay up late on Friday night watching Creature Feature / Fright Night on your 6 inch black and white tv that uses rabbit ears for antenna, knowing you don't have school the next day. And watching Gargoyles was a cherry on the top..It was scary, but it surely was the best of times..GOD how I so miss those times...Oh, and btw, the next day would be Saturday..CARTOON all day..WOOHOO...lol... Thank you for sharing this awesome classic, Gargoyles ..

I have seen Gargoyles a few times now, it's a pretty cool horror movie. I have also seen Twins of Evil, the two girls in that movie were pretty dam hot.

If any of you love plot twists, this has one of the best that I never saw coming. Its from 1975 and is British and starts out slow burn as a road trip through the English countryside. The English girl in it is cute and has a cute accent. It looks like a friendly road trip though England most of the time with nice scenery. Man I never saw the plot twist coming. It's one of the best I ever seen. lol

Jamesbond,
Check out this 1988 movie Witchery starring Linda Blair (from Exorcist) and David Hasselhoff (from Knight Rider). I've never seen Hasselhoff in a horror film before.

Synopsis
When a storm strands a group on a Massachusetts island where the only dwelling is an old hotel supposedly haunted by the ghost of a former German actress (Knef), the result is the standard horror film as each of the cast is picked off one-by-one.

Some great spooky looking ghost story and murder mystery noir films from the 30s and 40s. They look pretty good. The dialogue is easy to follow and more interesting than today's films. The characters seem so alive, unlike today. The women in these films look so wholesome too. Wow.

Shock (1946) by Vincent Price

He never dreamed what it would all lead to...and she didn't care !
A psychologically distraught woman is committed to a private sanitarium by the man she witnessed commit a murder.

The Bat (1959) by Vincent Price (Colorized)

AWARD WINNING MOVIE. A crazed killer known as "The Bat" is on the loose in a mansion full of people.
