Assassins Creed - Awesome game with great story/gameplay!

Post by Winston »

Check out this video game called Assassins Creed where you play an assassin. It has great story and gameplay. It looks awesome. The first one takes place in the Holy Lands during the Crusades, where you fight a secret society called The Knights of Templars. The second one takes place in Venice and Florence during the Renaissance. The third one takes place in Colonial America during the American Revolution.

Here are reviews of them from Gamespot.

Assassins Creed I

Assassins Creed II

Assassins Creed III

Here are movies created from cut scenes.

What I like about the AC series is how they tie historical events into the storyline. I know that it's not all completely accurate, but the designers do give a valiant effort.

The very best thing about the series in my opinion is the 3 dimensional recreation of ancient cities. Assassin's Creed 2: Revelations takes place in Constantinople. Thanks to this game in particular, I now want to experience this international city with my own eyes. While you are preparing for your real life escape from the States, you can take an unguided tour at your leisure and view what these cities were like hundreds of years ago. I played AC2: Brotherhood specifically for the chance to check out the Colosseum in Rome. Having been there in real life, I can say that the environmental artists of this game did a superb job.

If you are into travel, architecture or history (as they kind of trick you into learning a little bit along the course of the game), I would definitely recommend checking out the series.
