Just finished watching this with my teen boys and overall, I liked the movie. It was fast paced but also slow at times for character development. The storyline was good though by now, people are so used to movies of this scale, it's hard to surprise anyone these days. The special effects were incredible but hard to follow at times given how much was going on simultaneously. We watched it in 3D but that wasn't anything special. Like the previous movie, there was lots of humor and friendly banter from the super heroes even during the midst of battle. I recommend seeing the movie, especially if you're into comic books and super heroes. But if you're not, you might need to bring someone along who is more knowledgeable in these areas.
My boys know that I was a huge comic book collector in the 70s and 80s (I have a 10,000+ comic book collection in storage in the U.S.) so they were asking me questions during the movie that I quietly answered.
"Did Tony Stark create Ultron in the original comic books?" No, I explained to them that Dr. Hank Pym (Giant Man, Ant Man, Yellowjacket) created Ultron. They asked me what vibranium was and I explained to them what it was, the reference to Wakanda and the existence of T'Challa, the Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda (eventually an Avenger as well). When several surprises came up during the movie, they asked me if it happened in the original comics and I told them that it did not.
During dinner, the inevitable debates came up in conversation. "Who would win in a fight between the Hulk and Thor?" "Could Captain America beat Spider-Man?" But while listening to my teen boys debate and me chiming in from time to time, I felt a great sense of deja vu.
I realized that I had these same, exact conversations with my friends growing up! But it also dawned on me that I was getting old and my time on this planet was limited. My end was closer than the beginning.
I guess the moral of this story for me was that I need to enjoy my time with my children as much as possible. Once they go off to college, I won't have many more chances of bonding with them like this anymore.

I loved the first Avengers Movie. I'm looking forward to seeing it here in China, in about a month!

I think you'll like the 2nd one then. Lots of humor and funny banter between the Avengers. Faster paced than the first one though it's sometimes hard to follow. Maybe that's the idea. To get you to watch it again?zboy1 wrote:I loved the first Avengers Movie. I'm looking forward to seeing it here in China, in about a month!![]()

Yeah I totally agree with you! The best movies these days are the superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movies in terms of story, special effects and the feeling that it was worth paying the money to watch the movie on the big screen instead of waiting for it to come out on DVD.
Though action movies like Fast and Furious 7 are really good too. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Some of the car stunts they pulled off were the most spectacular I've ever seen on film (though some of it might have been CGI).
I wonder why you have to wait another month to see Avengers 2? It's came out a couple of days ago here in Hong Kong (April 23). And it already had Chinese subtitles when we were watching it today.
