Hi all,
My friend Darryl Sloan recommended this Anime series to me. He said it was similar to the Matrix concept and kind of weird. But he has very good taste from what I've seen of his films, so if he likes it, it's gotta be good. Here it is if you want to check it out. Maybe Momopi has heard of this.
Playlist for the series:

I've meet Yoshitoshi ABe back in 2002 or 2003. He used to have a web site full of his fan art (he's a big doujinshi artist), but it was taken down when Lain became popular in late 90's. He gave me 2 packets of his art prints, I have a few framed on the wall. In retrospec I should've asked him to sign a few.
Of all his work, I liked Haibane Renmei (灰羽連盟) the best. Highly recommend it (both art and anime).
Others that I recommend:
Hitoshi Ashinano's Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō (ヨコハマ買い出し紀行) and Kabu no Isaki (カブのイサキ) manga
Kozue Amano's Aqua/Aria (manga and anime)
Saki Hiwatari's Please Save my Earth (manga and anime)
