Genres of music

Post by Iawesome60 »

I will listen to any genre of music because I have a flexible mind. My favorite genres of music are all genres. I haven't listened to all genres of music, but they're all my favorite because all genres have great songs. I refuse to chastise a person because of their genre of music. Songs with deep lyrics and a nice beat are what songs should be like. Here are my favorite artists.

Rap/Hip-hop:
1. J-Cole
2. Lupe Fiasco
3. Wale
4. Fabulous
5. Jay-Z
6. Lil Wayne (he can be extreme at times)
7. Ludacris
8. Talib Kweli
9. Nas
10. Wu-Tang Clan
11. Numerous old school rappers (MC Lyte, NWA, 2pac, Notorious B.I.G., etcetera)
12. Drake
13. Many more (Kanye West, Eminem, and etcetera)

R&B/Soul/Jazz
1. Trey Songz (yes, that is how he spells it)
2. Mary J Blige
3. R. Kelly
4. The O'Jays
5. Keyshia Cole
6. Alicia Keys
7. Beyonce
8. Frankie Beverly and Maze
9. Usher
10. Ronnie Laws
11. Some of the artists happierabroad members posted on here (the smooth jazz topic)
12. Marvin Gaye
13. Ne-Yo
14. Many more

Rock/Alternative
1. Linkin Park
2. Blink-182
3. Foo Fighters
4. Nirvana
5. Green Day
6. Korn
7. Rage Against the Machine
8. Yellowcard
9. Led Zeppelin
10. Gorillaz
11. Matchbox 20
12. The All-American Rejects
13. Red Hot Chili Peppers
14. Many more

There will be more artists and more genres. I didn't list all of the genres I usually listen to (Gospel). What's y'all favorite genres of music and artists?
There aren't many attractive women (inside and outside) in America. A man wants a physically attractive woman with attractive personality traits. American women usually don't have that combination.

Ever since I found Winston's website and read the information on there, my life has been much easier and I've been a MUCH more happier person!

Thanks, E_Irizarry :)

Your taste of music kinda screams old school  but we have some similar taste (Sublime, Nirvana, 311, Celia Cruz)

@Iawesome60: you have nice taste of music too especially on alternative music. Have you heard of Rob Thomas? (He was the lead singer for Matchbox Twenty. He has a solo career as a singer)

I'll admit, I didn't know Rob Thomas was the lead singer of Matchbox 20. You guys have good taste in music, too. E_Irizarry, I have listened to Anthony Hamilton songs before. I liked them. I wonder what other members on happierabroad enjoy listening to.

There are artists that I have listed to that sing/rap negative lyrics. Unfortunately, I listed some of them at that time. I either do not listen to them anymore or listen to them on occasion. The only occasion I listen to them is if their lyrics have a positive message. For example, I really do not listen to Beyonce anymore because Beyonce's songs have a negative message. Her former group, Destiny's Child, had negative messages in a few of their songs. Examples are "Bills, Bills, Bills", "Jumpin, Jumpin", and "I need a soldier." For now on, the music I listen to has a positive message.

I want to listen to and relish all genres of music, especially if the artist(s) sing/rap positive messages. Also, I am willing to listen to instrumentals, especially if it pacifies me. I listened to a couple of Spanish songs. I understood what they were saying and I learned new words! In my opinion, I should expand my music tastes. In order to do so, I should listen to all genres of music.

I listen to everything. I don't even want to scare you guys with a massive list of music that I love. Let's just say my music collection ranges from George Winston to Iron Maiden. And that's not even nearly the tip of the iceberg.
"Manginas grovel. Men travel." - me (04/17/2012)
