The only one from the modern era I can think of is Nasio Fontaine. If you like Bob Marley you should like him. Actually I'll add Mary J Blighe & Alisha Keys to the equation but you've heard of them I presume.

The most talented musicians come from the hotbed of the 70's and 80's IMO. Marley is one and I also think the unique duo of Simon & Garfunkel were excellent. There are others but these were the first that sprung to mind.

I have all Prince's music from the 80's into the early 90's and it is good, the best ? his music can become tiresome if listened to repeatedly............

Could Prince sing like Cat Stevens Nooooooooooo, I like Prince a lot and I have a lot of his music and it is very original.

Listen to " Morning has Broken " and " Katmandu " , I have never heard a clearer voice. There are a lot of great singers and Princes voice is just mediocre, his other talents are better than his singing voice...........

He is pretty talented but I said somebody I was not familiar with, everybody knows who prince is. He is very creative and his work was one of as kind and will be listened to for a long time to come on that merit but he did not have the best voice........... Not bad but not great.
