Unimpressed: Russian student Anna Shlyakhtenko who is studying English in London finds the manners of British men 'disappointing'
Russian women working in the UK have launched a scathing attack on British men – branding them filthy and ill-mannered.
They have fired up internet forums and blogs with a series of posts about the shortcomings of the British male – and they hold nothing back.
A post by Tatiana, who appears to work for a top London law firm, posted on ‘lavinia_lond’, a fellow expat’s journal: ‘My male colleagues matter-of-factly scratch their private parts in the presence of females. In meetings, they are biting their nails.
‘One director sneezes loudly, without a thought of covering his mouth or apologising. And my boss, a noted barrister, stretches himself out in his chair, as if he is on a bed. He yawns, sometimes scratching his crotch.
‘He once dug something out of his tummy button through the front of his shirt, then flicked the offending object away with his fingers.
‘He eats lunch at his desk, not washing his hands, just licking his fingers. It is rudeness, which should not be acceptable among well-raised people.’
A forum entitled ‘Why are English people such slovenly and dirty creatures?’ on http://www.dom-uk.org has attracted 280 posts.
Russian Ekaterina moaned: ‘Oh yes, English people are dirty creatures, this is true.’ Another, called Betsy, wrote: ‘English people are real pigs.’
The railing against the nation’s men continued on a separate forum, where one woman told of her upset with her British spouse.

She posted: ‘I found out that my husband, who works at a bank, openly talks about our love life with his work mates. I’d bought some new lingerie a week earlier and he must have told them all about it.
‘In the pub I overheard two of his male colleagues discussing whether I was wearing it or not. I thought Brits were supposed to be standoffish about sex but they are so intrusive.’
Russian girls in London were divided yesterday on the merits of British men compared with their compatriots.

Anna Shlyakhtenko, 22, who is studying English, said: ‘The manners of modern British men are sometimes rather disappointing.
‘I was surprised seeing how an educated Englishman feels absolutely confident in putting his feet on a table while another person is eating. To Russians, and I think most people, this is not at all polite.
‘Honestly, I was shocked. In their daily lives they are not very gallant. They don’t open the door for you. Or offer to help you carry heavy bags.
‘As for paying at restaurants, my English boyfriend does not expect me to pay if we go out. But he always complains bitterly if he is forced to pay for some of our female friends. He can go on about it for days afterwards.
‘This is the second thing he will moan about – after the weather, the favourite British subject to complain about.
‘But some things in Britain are more polite. Drivers stop at pedestrian crossings to let you cross. In Russia this too often doesn’t happen.’
Maria Garbuzova, 19, is spending the summer in the capital.
She said: ‘British men spend their time drinking beer in pubs as they don’t have anything to do. Back home men do not have this problem.’
However, Siberian Camilla Zur, 21, who lives in Earls Court with her civil servant boyfriend, has been won round. She said: ‘I first saw English men on holiday in Crete. I found them to be horrible animals.
‘When I came to London I found not all British men were like this. There are many who have manners, especially the upper-class ones.
‘But then you turn on the television and see The Jeremy Kyle Show and remember some British men are bad.’
Fitness instructor Natalia Hunt, 26, also from Siberia, lives with her British husband in London.
She said: ‘When I started living with him I was surprised by his bad manners. He would never take his shoes off when he comes in from work.
‘He also never changes his clothes to something more comfortable. I try to teach him – but it hardly works.’

This is strange. I have not met Brits that act that way. They can be nasty and sarcastic and totally vicious but not ill-mannered. I have no idea where they met such people.

But I have noticed one thing- Many Brits do not mind someone's farting in the same room or vehicle with them- it is just seen as normal.

The main complaint I have heard is that British men have the passion,life force and joi de vivre of a dead jelly fish.

This is the part I don't understand. I mean WTF?! What man would pay for his girlfriend's friends' dinners?

Oh, I know many men that do stupid stuff like paying for every woman. It is a common bitch move, but I know men that have done it just for a grandma kiss and the "don't touch me" hug. Not worth it.

This is the part I don't understand. I mean WTF?! What man would pay for his girlfriend's friends' dinners?

There is culture of "Glam" in Russia. So rich girls "or wanna-be rich" sometimes think that men should do everything (perverted idea of being a gentleman etc). So they say "if he is a man, he has to prove it by paying for everyone". Russians want and need to "show off" the money and it is viewed as "prestigious" to be with a man who can pay for everything, it's like a never-ending dream to those girls. But again - those girls are usually VERY shallow and dumb or simply very poor and offended by their poverty etc.

So if she knows a guy can pay, but does not pay - she says "He is not a man, he has no balls" etc. But when a guy remembers about this later, she considers him to be a piece of shit. But again - girls like that are either very spoiled or want to act like it or very dumb or poor or combination of all those things. It is not a common behavior, but could be common if you get into a very expensive clubs and bars or parties. Then it all depends, some rich people just had enough and don't care about "buying everything", but for some it is very important.

Explaining whole social structure of the society in the FSU is complicated, I try my best, but it is much easier if you live there for some time. Personally, I never paid for girls until 3-4 years ago and still I am not paying for everything with girls I am dating, so these bitches can go to hell with their glam!
