Anyone thinking of marrying a foreigner needs to read this!

So you are interested in a foreign bride? It's very interesting and even fun at first. Here in the Virginia Beach Hampton Roads area we have alot of students from overseas that come here on J1 Student work visa's. It allows them to come here for 3 months, get a temporary social security card. I was amazed at how cute, smart these women were. They were much prettier than the girls I met at work, school, etc and they would actually give me the time of the day I became very good friends with a girl from Minsk, Belarus. I went to visit her a year later. She had a son from a man in Belarus so the situation was too hard for her to think about coming over here for good, so we just decided to remain friends, and to this day she is one of my best friends. One of the few decent girls in E Europe I can say that is not a user. Then I got mixed up with a Polish girl. Big mistake that was. Ended in divorce, wiped out my credit. She was wanting nothing more than just papers in the end and she had a Czech boyfriend the whole time. I blame myself too for being naive, lonely and falling for her bs
The truth is the only reason these women are interested in being with a foreigner is because they want to upgrade their lives and 60% of the time they would in the end much rather spend the rest of their life with a man from their own country, culture. People think Polish and Americans are so much alike. No they are not. They are hardcore catholics, very conservative, materialisitc, opportunist. All they care about is trying to keep up with their Polish neighbors, getting the biggest house, car. I'm from the south so our redneck culture is way different than traditional Polish/Slavic culture. The 2 just don't mix.
Another problem is scam marriages. There was a article on the front page of the local Virginian Pilot about a Russian lady who married a local US Navy sailor so she could remain in the country. Her J1 Visa was set to expire in one day and the next day she married this guy. The sailor was getting extra cost of living benefits from the navy since he was married. They never went to INS to fill out her temporary resident "green card" forms. They didn't live together and thank god the Navy and INS investigated them and pressed felony charges on both of them for marriage fraud. Both were arrested and put in jail. The sailor was given bond but the Russian lady was kept in jail without bond. In the end the jury believed she married him for love. Now she lives in Pittsburgh with get this a Russian man who has a green card here. She has no criminal record at all now!
This is why we have such an immigration problem in America. Peope don't trust the Russians or Eastern Europeans.
My advice is make sure you know the lady for say 5 years. Dont rush into marriage. That's why I disagree with K1 visa's because u only have 90 days to marry her here in the states. INS needs to be more strict in my opinion and investigate all marriages. The way it works in 3 years they get a permanent green card. That is bs it promotes fraud. Be careful and don't give up on American women or try to meet an asian or euro lady already here living in the states. Marrying a overseas lady is risky and could ruin your life if your not careful. Dont' be stupid like I was! One more thing is remember they think american life is what they see on tv and in the movies so if you don't make atleast $30,000 a year forget it. The economy is tough enough here already. They don't understand that. It's cheaper to visit Brighton Beach in Brooklyn than go all the way to Kiev, Moscow, or Minsk too, but in the end those ladies have a Russian boyfriend and don't like American guys. Ahahaha! Guys, I am a "PRO" J-1 person. I've done dozens of those! I know where to find them, I know where they work in many states! It is one of the best ways to find a wife because you don't have to pay to go anywhere, they come here and already have SS card. All you do is marry before their visa expire on October 1 and submit documents to USCIS. Then it is a burden of proof for you and her that your marriage is valid and is not fake - your pictures together, shared banking accounts etc. Some of my friends married these girls, some already divorced, but some are still married. As everywhere - some of those girls are very bitchy and stuck up as they expect to come here and find "a rich American" who will shed money all the time.

Some of those girls actually DREAM about falling in love with American guy and staying to live in the U.S.

I will share BIG secret here: some hot spots that are literally FLOODED with these girls: Ocean City, MD, Virginia Beach, VA, Cape Cod, MA, Myrtle Beach, SC and many others! Many also go to California or Florida, some go to Texas. It depends on where they find a job offer to show to American embassy upon applying for J-1 visa. YOU can actually get an offer for these girls if you know someone who runs a business and sell those offers for $100 per person to them. Or make a free offer and lots of ladies will come to work for you. Keep in mind though that these girls mostly want to party and have a good time and some of them have STD's, some of them will use you for money BIG TIME.

One more thing - if you don't want to rush into a marriage, J-1 visa can be switched to tourist visa or student visa as well. My friend has a girlfriend at the moment who is living in the U.S. on F-1 student visa attending English as Second Language school locally, it costs around $300 per month which is fine for him as she helps him with his business and he pays for her school. It gives them both time to think if they want to get married and are a good match. Both of them are from the same city in Russia, so they share so much in common! That is a recipe for success IMHO.

In general as I mentioned, I am a "Professional J-1" for years now, so I know exactly what where and how. If you have questions - just ask.

Marrying people who are on precarious visas to be expired soon, or those expressly looking for foreigners is risky. And also, these Slavs are not compatible with the Anglo Saxon-based US culture unless they have specifically tried to fit in or you know their culture. But if you are an all American boy and you want to get involved with an all Polish/E. Euro girl, well, it usually won't work. It will work much better with a Filipina or even a Chinese person- their culture is much closer to yours than the E. Euros. Same race does not mean the same culture.

Yes, they do watch American movies and get a distorted view of the US, but so do you and they show other countries/nations in a wrong light, too. In Hollywood movies, all foreign white people are American wannabes, their English is flawless but with just a cute accent and their culture is just like American. America is super rich but they are all starving there and their guys are drunk paupers and criminals who beat them up. All the foreign women are dying to meet an American guy and live in the US because they hate their own countries and would overwhelmingly come to the US to live if they had a chance. The truth is most do not want to do it, they love their country just like Americans love theirs and most do not like American men in the raw form- meaning the ones who do not know or appreciate the culture these ladies come from.

Brighton Beach known to the US public as a "Russian community" is not Russian at all. It is Russian speaking, but its population are mostly Ashkenazi Jews from Ukraine, particularly Odessa, who are just Russian speakers. They left because the government in that part of the world does not consider them Slavs or Russians, had "nationality: Hebrew" written in their documents and basically wanted to get rid of them. Most have never even been to Russia. But to an average American, an Ashkenazi Hebrew from Ukraine is a "Russian". The Russian they speak is a non standard dialect, too since they are not from Russia. But what would an average American know? To him any Russian speaker is a Russian ( but Russian is another colonial language spoken by some 140 million people outside of Russia who are not Russian), Ukraine and Belarus are Russia, and naturalized citizens are foreigners still. Hence the cultural gap that is hard to bridge.

You have the answer... Date Latin woman and take it slow with them as you said... Sometimes you can find Latins who think the same as Russians, so you need to be careful. Believe me i know exactly what i'm saying.

If you can't stomach the risk, don't get married or do a better job during the interview process.

+1 Marriage has always been a ball and chain for men. I don't even believe in monogamy anymore as the woman will deny sex. Also, the laws are just too tough now e.g. Nazi pigs will drag the man away and forbid him access to his own home.
