Interesting debate, if not a bit tongue-in-cheek. The best I take out is the guy's comment, "it doesn't have to be a zero-sum game". And it's true. True gender equality is not about taking a privilege off men and giving it to women, but recognising that a woman has the same potential as a man and should be given the same opportunities and tools to achieve that potential. So women go to school, get their college and Masters and PhD degrees, they give a valuable contribution to society as doctors, scientists, lawyers, the full spectrum. And if they don't feel like doing it and want to sit back and wait for the alpha male or prince in shining armour to pick them up and lead them to a life of comfort, well, they will have wasted all that potential, it's their loss.

Kill Spiders? They call pest control for that (usually a man).

This is nothing more than hype and an attack on White Male Privilege. So what if women are getting degrees and get into middle management? In this so-called information economy it's mostly men who have designed and built the most powerful and popular websites in the world.

The best You Tubers (more profitable) are MEN. The idea of YouTube was a few men! What about Facebook, My Space, Amazon, Ebay, etc, etc, ALL MEN!

As I see it, the story was written to give American women a confidence boost when they don't need one. Men don't need college to invent things or making lots of money. It can certainly help but it's not always needed. For women having no degree usually means service sector or pink economy employment.

It's those jobs particularly service sector that tend to pay poorly and drag down the female pay scale. That said there are some women executives that are not paid the same for the same work and that is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Marriage is now seen as a capstone to life, not a building block of life and the sooner you guys on this forum get that through your heads, the better you'll understand what your up against.
