Do men innately desire sexual variety in women?
Do men innately desire sexual variety in women?
Do men innately desire sexual variety in women? Is the desire to date and sleep with multiple women innate in a man's nature, instinct or genetics? It would seem like it, since men seem to judge their success based on the number of women they've slept with, as if quantity were a measure of success.
But if this is so, then how are monogamous men and married men out there able to suppress their desire for "new conquests"? How do they not get tired of sleeping with the same woman everyday? What happened to their innate desire for variety? Do they secretly fantasize about other women? If so, how can they go through with that day after day and not fulfill their desire for sexual variety?
Have any of you asked these questions to married men? I have a few times, but they don't seem to want to talk about it.

Married men suffer in a different way, they have it all the time but they desire fresh meat
I asked one of my best friends who is married and he admitted thinking about other women, watching porn, jacking off
even women get tired of sleeping with the same man, men are more honest about it, women are raised to suppress their true emotions, there is always a danger of being labelled as a slut

The traditional solution to this is prostitution, meaning married guys seeing prostitutes. This works in cultures where women are taught that this isn't a violation of the husband's commitment to them. Unfortunately modern culture teaches women that this is a violation, so this upsets modern wives. But in sane traditional cultures, women are taught (correctly) that this isn't a violation, so wives accept this and everyone is happy. But if this is so, then how are monogamous men and married men out there able to suppress their desire for "new conquests"?

This isn't quite right. What wives get tired of is the lack of opportunity to chase the Brad Pitts of the world. Women have no real desire for diversity but they do desire "top" men. The husband has to counteract this by keeping the marriage interesting for the wife.Banano wrote:even women get tired of sleeping with the same man, men are more honest about it, women are raised to suppress their true emotions, there is always a danger of being labelled as a slut
I think if you ask most married men these questions, they will either avoid them or say something like "Yes I check out other women sometimes, but I love my wife too much to ever cheat on her." Even Mark Davis would probably say that. It's a safe answer right? But do you think it's honest?

Just as men have variation in character & talent, there is variation in why they marry.Winston wrote:Do men innately desire sexual variety in women? Some get married for religious/moral reasons, others for "oops, I'm pregnant", some because of one-itis, some were given the ultimatum, or a half-dozen other possibilities.
Not all of those reasons make for joyful conversation, after the fact.
Umm ... you've seen her, right?Winston wrote:I think if you ask most married men these questions, they will either avoid them or say something like "Yes I check out other women sometimes, but I love my wife too much to ever cheat on her." If you had her, you'd be a dumb@$$ to bother checking out the entitled-harpy-landwhale the average man his age (or even much younger) is stuck with.
Most (other) men are being as honest as they can be with themselves.

In biology, it's called the Coolidge effect. This happens in farm animals as well.

The males of most mammalian species have a definite urge towards seeking variety in their in sexual partners. In the laboratory this has been called the 'Coolidge Effect' (Bermant, 1976). If a male rat is introduced to a female rat in a cage, a remarkably high copulation rate will be observed at first. Then, progressively, the male will tire of that particular female and, even thought there is no apparent change in her receptivity, he eventually reaches a point where he has little apparent libido. However, if the original female is then removed and a fresh one supplied, the male is immediately restored to his former vigour and enthusiasm.
The same effect is seen even more strikingly in farm animals such as sheep and cattle (see Figure, a demonstration of the Coolidge Effect in sheep, from Beamer, Bermant and Clegg, 1960). Rams and bulls are unmistakably resistant to repeating sex with the same female (Beamer, Bermant and Clegg, 1969). Thus for breeding purposes it is unnecessary for a farmer to have more than one male to service all his sheep and cows. A single bull can be relied upon to do the rounds of all the available cows, and a single ram will eventually service all the sheep in his domain.
In the case of rams and bulls it is notoriously difficult to fool them that a female is unfamiliar. Attempts to disguise an old partner by covering her face and body or masking her vaginal odours with other smells are usually unsuccessful. Somehow she is identified as 'already serviced' and the male moves on to less familiar females. W. S. Gilbert's assertion that 'love unchanged will cloy' (Trial by Jury) seems to apply with a vengeance down on the farm.

Only men are stupid enough to do the same pu$$y over and over again

Don't women get sick of same male partner and want something fresh?
