I have already seen ALL of her family on messenger and we plan to have a wedding in Hawaii next year. But first i am flying there this year to meet her and her whole family in person.
Our plan is for both of us to work here in America for a few years, save up some money then retire in Davao.

OneZero has a point. Please check to see if there are problems or red flags you see visiting her. As other members of the board told you, you need to see if there is something wrong with her so you do not be the 1/5 foreign/US Nationals in the 20 percent divorce category.

We had started talking about me relocating to Oslo and getting a job at Ford, since one of her family members worked at the plant. Something happen when we met. She was standoff-ish and we went back to her apartment. We sat and talked for maybe 20 mins, but then she was like "you need to find a place to stay". We had never talked about me staying off-site, but she had a young son, it was understandable.

It was likely just an excuse to get rid of me. We had lunch, that's the picture I posted elsewhere on this site. We parted, she mentioned having to pick up her son from pre-school. She disappeared down the subway tunnel and about 30 seconds later I got a SMS/Text and it said something about I wasn't what she thought I would be or some other tripe.

The entire thing blew up in my face at that point, I went to Sweden and then Germany before I figured out it all failed. $3K down the drain and nothing to show for it.

one more tidbit from me to you.

id suggest you go to the phillipines a week to 10 days before meeting your potential future wife and try to talk, flirt, go out & try to bang as many other chicks there as possible.

that way you have a measuring stick how the 32 year old "virgen" stacks up.

Sorry to say, but if she was Scandinavian, there is one thing that is very different than a virgin from a male dominated country. That being she was most likely a jaded woman who had more sex partners than a working woman. Of course she was cold. All she had in her heart is dead.

No idea how long they were together before they married, but many men do this. But I couldnt. Just not into shotgun weddings and I dont trust women enough to do it after only internet chatting.

Now I know there some Pro-SE Asia supporters here, but I'm not one of them. Los Angels has no shortage of FOB and 2nd/3rd generation Asian American Women. I never fancied a woman from a impoverish countries. I'm not saying many FSU countries are rich, but several of them have economies ahead of many Asian countries. That being said, I just like White Women dude. Latinas are a super close second. I just like taller women. Asian tend to be short. Yes you can find some about 5'5 or so, we all have personal preferences.

I don't believe "location" has much to do with it. Maybe she was just disappointed. Oh well, just felt awful that I made it a point to see her first. The other women detected they were second best and women do NOT want to feel like they are second best, well at least some women don't. That proves that WOVO (Write One, Visit One) doesn't always work so its no surprise that men are convinced there will be no disappointments once you show up for first meeting. I had no fear, in fact that was the first time I had traveled to meet any woman and get rejected. So the fact that I failed doesn't really bother me, all the other times has resulted in whatever I wanted and always included getting laid within 48 hours of touching down.

My problem since late 2007 is a series of financial setbacks that don't allow me to be aggressive like I want. But I was faced with a choice. Continue working near min wage and getting nowhere or make a clean break and start over. Some other things happen that allowed me to make a clean break. So after a year of not working, I am in a position to totally upgrade my life in about 24 months.

I'm completely convinced my life will be changed for the better inside of that time frame.

My advice....seriously.
Before you go there, if you have the funds and even if you don't have the funds, hire a 'reputable' private investigator to check up on her background + trail her for a month or so....or as long as you can afford to hire the PI.
This is such an important step in your life. Your description has every possible alarm going off.
Even if the investigation checks up ok and she doesn't have anything hidden, you should still live with her for at least a month before making
any real commitment. I guarantee you that you can't know the REAL her
through just Yahoo Messenger.

And if you do take onezero4u's advice and go on a banging spree, try to do it in a different city than the one she's in It should be obvious and
prob don't need to say this but, be careful of your soon-to-be bride finding
out. This might also be a good op to do the PI thing while your messing
around. It's easier to arrange for these kind of things personally than over
the phone.

Erik, that is so awesomeeee man. I heard that Filipino women are very nice family women. I am so happy for you dude:)

I was also chatting with a Filipina woman but we have stopped talking , but that had nothing to do with her. I am going through a tough part of my life and I was honest enough to tell her about it and I wanted to know if it would be too much for her to take. I had to know this before things got deeper between us. I also didnt want to be a burden on her too so it was more or less a mutual decision. I have had nothing but good experiences with Filipino women as they also have strong morals and a deep faith in God (which I love).

Looks like you got a keeper buddy. Please hold onto each other as true love is truely a gift that doesnt grow on trees.
