Danielle, this forum is full of white males with white female phobias.... so I don't know if this is the best place to post...

anyways... are you sure the reason why you are being harassed is that you guys are an Asian Male/White Female couple? You are making North Dakota sound like the hood or full of hicks and rednecks.

Report your story to your local paper and tell them your story about being harassed. Maybe that will get the people to protect you both. Good luck

So here's the situation. Since marrying my husband we have faced lots of bull crap. Most of it directed towards me and my 6 month old. I think people see it as the easiest way to get a rise out of my husband. We are in a all white community. As a asian male, white female couple people tend to look at us like some exotic animal. Lately the taunting has went from bad to worse. We had our car broken into and robbed and eerie threats. My husband had recently decided to buy a gun. I think the people who are doing this is in the building we live in. We had to fix the doors installing a deadbolt and a chain lock bc when we were in bed one night e heard a crash in our baby's room and he and I both took off running towards our son's room. Our front door was left open. We've talked to both the apartment management and the police.
The apartment management won't let us out of our lease and if we move out before the time is up we'll be out of $1,000 and have to continue to pay the $950 a month until someone else moves in. The police have several reports but don't really do anything. My husband won't let me do anything alone. if I go out he goes with me. he has become really overprotective and has taken to carrying the gun when we go out at night. I have had threatening phone calls and my cell says NO CALLER ID.
I personally think it is my husbands ex wife. He married when he was 18. She was a snotty girl. Wouldn't even take his last name. She filed for divorce against him and after three years of marriage they were divorced. (three years included the divorce progress). After I married Duc and had a baby she offered to take him on a date and acted kinder than she has ever been to him.
The harrasment started on me mostly from women. Even women called my phone saying they were sleeping with my husband. My facebook was bombed with i hope your baby dies and horrible messages.
Truth is now I have threats and voicemails of threats to kill me. The police say they can't do anything til it happens. I think things are getting more serious and harmful. I don't know how to fix this situation. I am a nonviolent docile person. How could I solve this matter W/O violence.

I had already replied to this post and was busy reading it and was about to start typing when I read that most of it was coming from white women. Now that one really puzzles me. I know where I live women just love the thought of white males going without a woman. So one would think these women would be all kind of pro mixed marriages. I thought for sure it would have been from white men.

Obviously you should move. Give the apartment management hell and tell them that you will sue them for damages if your property is damaged as a result of you being prevented from moving. Get a lawyer if necessary. When you get out of the lease, move to another town.

By the way, do you still think people are better than cockroaches? I don't.

Yes I do think so. i think I just may have broken his ex wife's heart by marrying her ex husband is all. Jtest both my husband and I are momogomous. I think most my bullies are his ex wifes doing.

Here is some advice for you from a wise female friend of mine:

Sounds like a typical situation in an area that is full of white suprematists and those survivalists and areas of North Dakota can fit that bill. Especially if it's fueled by a psycho-ex wife with plenty of biker friends and issues.

Tell her to call her phone company about the calls, change their phone number and only give it out to people they trust. Then look up how to trace a call from her phone:

and use it. The police can't do anything but the phone company can trace the call and report the location to the police, forcing them to do something.... in most cases.

As for the drama with the gun... that works for me. It's pretty normal here in Florida to have a gun or two or three in the house for protection. I don't know about North Dakota but it's got to be fairly relaxed when it comes to weapons for personal protection.

Why don't you just move? If do the research or talk to lawyers, there are ways to get out of lease contracts if you have extinuating circumstances.

This could be a bogus post, but I find it hard to imagine all this drama surrounding a normal private couple. Sometimes we find ourselves in a bad situation but if it happens over and over again we need to look at ourselves. I find it hard to believe things are bad enough you need to move is just because of an Asian/White relationship. If you are in danger I think it is best to go to the police and if you crave more attention for drama try the media. I see no reason to post this here or way any of us could actually help. For anyone in danger I most certainly advise they contact the police and seek safety.

^^^You likely have it figured out. Mixed race marriages are so common in the USA now that I doubt that would cause any problems in general. On top of that, Asian/White Marriages are probably the LEAST likely to gain negative attention from either side...
