Does Taiwan belong to China? Will China ever invade Taiwan?

@Yohan you forget that if China creates a naval blockade around Taiwan, that no ships or supplies can reach Taiwan remember? It can do that any time. At that point. Taiwan has a limited amount of time before it's oil and gas and energy production runs out. Then the US and Japan cannot resupply Taiwan with weapons.

Taiwanese politician says in this interview that Taiwan could be the next Ukraine, and that Prof. John Mearsheimer could be wrong. Very scary. She makes a good point that by moving its semiconductor industry to Japan, Taiwan is jeopardizing itself in that it removes the incentive for Japan to protect Taiwan. That's an irony and good point.

China cannot block easily the supply route to Japan on the eastern side of Taiwan, which is nearer located than even China mainland. It is only 75 miles to Japan (Yonaguni, which also has a military post) and by day if weather is good, you can see this Japanese island from Taiwan.

Japan has not such a small military as you might think ( considered #8 in the world, a little bit down from #5 South Korea #6 and #7 UK and France)
However its navy is quite large.

If additionally assisted by the US navy I do not think, China can easily block supply entering from the eastern side into Taiwan.

However what can China really win with attacking Taiwan? This is a good question. For example, most semiconductor factories holding sensitive data are already moved away from Taiwan and are now operating in Japan.

In case of an attack China is risking its rich mainland opposite of Taiwan will be seriously damaged between Xiamen 厦门市 and Fuzhou 福州市.

Attacking Taiwan for what? From financial aspect it could turn out a serious disaster.
China is not interested ending up like Russia with Ukraine and its 3-days-special military operation, which turned out to be a total failure since more than 3 years.

Good point Yohan. China does not need Taiwan and does not need to invade it. It's ideological.

Also there is some metaphysical force in this world that is creating and engineering these conflicts and feeding off them. That's why they happen. This applies to WW1 and WW2 which were not necessary either, but artificially engineered against the will of the people. Something feeds off them. We are living on a loosh energy farm and being used as batteries. Robert Monroe said that before he died. It was his last great discovery. The movie "The Matrix" reveals this too. A lot of truth is coming out now. We are not here as random creatures created by random accidents. I know as an atheist, you believe we are all here by chance and not being manipulated and that nothing exists that can't be seen, but it's not true.

This means the matrix is trying to create war between China and Taiwan, not because it's necessary or logical.

China will never invade Taiwan. If Taiwan misbehaves, China will simply duplicate Taiwanese industries on the mainland then fllood the market with underpriced goods to wreck the Taiwanese economy. At most China might blockade Taiwan, though that is unlikely. Another option is assassinate troublesome Taiwanese politicians, though assassination is not the Chinese way of doing things.

It is only another decade before USA/European economies face major difficulties and Chinese economy is by far the dominant in the world. USA/Europe will lose all their current respect among smaller countries and China will gain the world's respect. Next generation Taiwanese already look favorably at China and in ten years Taiwan will voluntarily unite with the mainland.
