The Fastest Growing Cities On The Planet

You might end up living and working in China one day whether you want to or not.

Most of the cities in that list are Chinese boom cities built out of the nation's need to fuel a continuing estate bubble to stimulate internal consumption and justify their double digit growth. How sustainable all this is, it's anyone's guess. Watch for that hard landing. I wouldn't want to live in one of those sprawling metropolises (or anywhere else in China) when it happens.

China is not a place I would wanna live. There is a very small middle class, lots of corruption and favoritism and the fact that they have no laws protecting its workers or its environment is not acceptable in the 21st century.

Cheap Chinese labour is responsible for the consumerism we're experiencing in North America. Instead of developing more expensive yet longer lasting products, everything these days is made to be disposable. Not to mention the loss of jobs to people who would rather work for $1/day instead of taking control of their destiny by removing the super rich elite exploiting them.

How is that even possible?

You are not using your logic circuits...

What countries still have the largest rural communities? China, SEA and Africa

If China has the largest population of people and some 60% of them still live in rural China, wouldn't common sense tell you there is a reason China is building these large cities??? There are cities sitting empty in China because the rural folk are not moving out of these villages fast enough to take those great low wage jobs to make IPhone and IPads for consumer obsessed Westerners.

This is why those cities are the fastest growing but California's population is said to almost double by the middle of the century - http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/07/ ... 1220070709

Most of this is because California is not hostile to immigrants, so while they are close to parity with Whites (now) in California who still make up the majority of the population Hispanics will be the majority in the future (2042 in California, 2050 Nation wide)

Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Houston will be in the race for the largest cities in America.

I would say San Francisco as well but housing is way too expensive in that city and won't come down to reasonable prices anytime soon, not as long as Finance and Technology continue to pay high wages, real estate prices will stay high.

There's a recent UCLA study that shows Atlas Van Lines is getting more relocation business from moving folks from outside California back to it, while U-Haul is showing an increase in trailer rental for places outside the state.

What that generally means is that high skilled labor is moving into California while low education but high skill construction and factory workers are being pushed out of the state due to lack of jobs.

This is why California will thrive and the middle of the country will have the Dust Bowl 2.0 at some point in the future. As I have suggested before on this site, you should watch Earth 2100.

That is a series of predictions based on data and opinion from academics and science say we won't stop the rising of the sea levels because Elites still want to burn fossil fuel and coal for electricity. The entire eastern seaboard is powered mostly by coal. In California we get 90% our power from Nuclear, Natural Gas Generators and Renewables such as Geothermal, Wind, Solar and Hydro-Electric.

There are already plans for expanded light rail, high speed rail, aquaponics, hydroponics, water desalination, more Geothermal plants and solar panels on most homes.

In fact the entire West Coast is moving in this direction.

Quit these urban myths about empty cities. If they are empty, the government will move people there.

Chinese cities are pretty efficient, with 13 metro lines in Guangzhou alone, and high speed connections to its neighbours.

Chinese people seem on the whole a pretty happy bunch. It's not perfect, but unlike in the USA or UK Chinese 20/30 somethings have a better quality of life than their parents had. That's what you need to focus on. Sure, they work hard but then so do the Japanese - it's just a cultural thing.
I was Happier Abroad for a while but Covid killed that off.
