Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim Split After 11 Year Marriage

Actor Nicolas Cage and his wife Alice Kim have decided to end their 11 year marriage. According to Cage’s representative, the couple separated in January 2016. They have one son, 10-year-old Kal-el Coppola Cage.

Kim, 32, is twenty years Cage’s junior. She met the 52-year-old actor in February 2004 when she waited his table at a Los Angeles restaurant. After a swift, two month engagement, they married on a Northern California ranch.

Cage has been married twice before, first to Patricia Arquette for five years and then, briefly, to Lisa Marie Presley. Presley and Cage separated after almost four months.

Best of luck to Cage and Kim as they part ways.

There is no mention of alimony, but she's probably a lot better off financially than when she first met Cage as a 20 year old waitress. I hope the marriage was worth it for Cage too.

In Commiefornia, it takes 10 years before the parasitical spouse is entitled to permanent alimony. This divorce occurred after 11 years. Coincidence? Perhaps not. And if Nick Cage isn't alpha enough for his wife, are you?

He is a hollyweird performing circus monkey and a 2 time loser already in marriage and according to people magazine he has a kid from someone he wasn't married to. Maybe the divorce is more on him. First marriages only have a 40 percent failure rate, second and third marriages the failure rate goes up to about 70 percent. Funny how in the absence of any information folks here are assuming that it is all on her.

There were married for more than 10 years so she will be collecting. I heard Nick Cage seek bankruptcy before in the past and I think that's why his always making this crappy movies. He needs the money.

Why does anyone care about this? So what? They're getting divorced. It doesn't matter though. That's his problem.

This may be part of the problem in this world. Whether we know it or not, life is monkey see, monkey do. These actors are cultural leaders. Meaning they show people how to behave, leading by example.

marriage or for legal separation of the parties where the marriage is
of long duration.

marriage of 10 years or more, from the date of marriage to the date
of separation, is a marriage of long duration. However, the court may
consider periods of separation during the marriage in determining
whether the marriage is in fact of long duration. Nothing in this
subdivision precludes a court from determining that a marriage of
less than 10 years is a marriage of long duration.

(c) Nothing in this section limits the court's discretion to
terminate spousal support in later proceedings on a showing of
changed circumstances.

(d) This section applies to the following:
(1) A proceeding filed on or after January 1, 1988.
(2) A proceeding pending on January 1, 1988, in which the court
has not entered a permanent spousal support order or in which the
court order is subject to modification.

If the couple is married and lived together for say, 8 years and have children together, the court can still rule the marriage as "of long duration" when determining alimony.

Apparently, Cage found out that his wife had been cheating on him:

It's not his first divorce - or his second - but what makes Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim's breakup so surprising is this latest revelation:

She was cheating on him! Publicly and for quite awhile now!

"All while he was at the Cannes film festival,” a source close to the situation told Radar Online, detailing Kim's betrayal of Cage.

The actor, to put things mildly, "was blindsided when he was confronted with allegations that Alice had been cheating on him."

“The reality is that Alice has been regularly spotted in Nevada with another man - and was even caught kissing him behind Nick’s back."

Soon after, Cage interrogated his wife about the claims, which made their way to him via an unnamed business associate.

His publicist then issued a statement claiming that the two have been separated and living apart since January of this year.
