Pope Leo XIV pleas for peace in Ukraine and Gaza
Putin does not care about what the Pope in Rome says.

The only one related to a Church he might listen is the Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church,

However Patriarch Kirill is not known for peace and supportive to the Russian government.

No putin doesn't listen to Patriarch Kirill. Patriarch Kirill listens to putin or he's dead. That is how a despot rules - through fear

Ukrainians tell Putin ‘we don’t trust you’ ahead of Russia peace talks
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/politics/inte ... r-AA1EBqcQ
Another added, “putin is trying to win time, it is just empty talk of no consequence.”
@Yohan Do you think these proposed peace talks May 15 in Turkey are just another tactic to buy time? @Winston Do you think putin will really go to Istanbul or send down one of his doubles? he's an internationally wanted war criminal. he should be arrested right there on the spot

Putin's demands can never be accepted by Ukraine. This is not a peace talk, this is about capitulation of Ukraine, totally unacceptable by Ukraine, all Europe, UK and other Ukraine friendly countries.

I think, these talks will break down, postponed etc. with a zero result, except maybe some prisoners exchange or other similar small activities.
Russia demands Ukraine adopt a neutral status, renounce NATO membership, and ban the deployment of foreign troops. The draft also imposes strict limits on Ukraine’s armed forces: no more than 85,000 soldiers, 342 tanks, and 519 artillery systems. The range of Ukrainian missiles must not exceed 40 km, allowing Russian forces to deploy without the threat of strikes.
Beside those demands Russia also is asking for resignation of the entire Ukrainian government, wants new election with new politicians, prohibiting foreign military presence or aid. Russia also wants to install a pro-Moscow leader and official status to the Russian language in Ukraine.

That's ridiculous, can never be accepted...

Yes, so basically it is about to win time to move troops and weapons and continue as before, with North Korean soldiers, with drones from Iran, using Belarus territory like if it is a part of Russia etc. and this list is not even complete...

I think you seriously underestimate Patriarch Kirill. Very close friend of Putin since decades.
Patriarch Kirill is able to manipulate ordinary people in Russia as the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church.

A summary of him can be found with wikipedia

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday he would attend talks with Russia on the war in Ukraine this week only if Vladimir Putin is also there, and goaded him by saying the Russian leader was scared to meet him face-to-face.

The Kremlin has yet to say whether Putin will take part in the talks scheduled to be held in Istanbul on Thursday, more than three years into the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two.

The planned talks have become the main focus of peace efforts led by U.S. President Donald Trump, who is sending senior envoys Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, three sources familiar with the plans said. Trump has also offered to attend.

Zelenskiy said he wanted to negotiate an unconditional 30-day ceasefire as the first step towards ending the war, and that Putin must take part in talks because "absolutely everything in Russia" depends on him.

I seriously doubt putin will go to the meeting in Istanbul. As I said before he's risk averse, a coward. If he goes he will send one of his doubles. he is afraid of arrest or assassination. Any "agreement" that is made in Istanbul will be meaningless and not worth the paper it's written on

It was just as I said - putin would be a no show. I predict they will resume bombing Ukrainian cities. There is not going to be any peace deal. putin has to keep his little war going

Wow check out these multiple interviews with Zelensky and his wife on 60 Minutes. They will make you feel sad and bring tears to your eyes. How could human beings do this to one another? Even animals would not do that to each other. Satan must truly rule this world.

Btw why hasn't Russia tried to invade Kyiv again from Belarus since the border is close to it?

What a silly question. If russia failed to take Kyiv the first time what makes you think they are in a better position to take it now? The russian army is poorly trained and inept. They can only take small towns or villages. The only cities they've taken are those they've bombed to the ground such as Mariupol.
