Right now, I'm considering whether or not to burn all of my Meritorious Mast awards that I received during my enlisted years. I honestly feel no pride in our nation's military any longer. Zero!

Why would I be joking about where I live? Does it matter?

And, yeah, I have seen the ihatetheusmc blog before. It's good for a laugh or two I suppose; anyone who's been part of the "club" will probably be able to relate.

I feel kind of like a loser now, after starting this thread. I just got back from my favorite Thai food restaurant, and basically some rich guy and his wife insisted on paying for my lunch after we got into a conversation about travel, and I mentioned being former military. I tried to tell the both of them, "No, you guys are too kind, this isn't necessary," blah blah blah. Kind of makes me feel shitty, after criticizing the shit out of the US all of the time. These people probably thought I was all patriotic and stuff, but in reality, I resent living in the US most of time. Damn.

I'm in the military. We are not all like this. I am an educated individual.

The military is a proud organization with many (not all) dedicated to serving the country and bettering themselves. The true evil are the one's at the top who direct our resources for their own self gain.

I'm not a fan of our foreign policy, but I can tell you that there are many good people serving in the military; I have met them.

Really? I live in the midwest too. It is mostly populated by authority-loving conformists and pussies. You don't see too many vets here, let alone vets that hang out on sites like this and watch Russia Today. C'mon, man.. You are an oddball for this place. Don't deny it. Embrace it.
