LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A body found in a large water tank on top of a downtown Los Angeles hotel on Tuesday may belong to a 21-year-old Canadian woman who went missing under suspicious circumstances while staying there late last month, police said.

Elisa Lam, a student from Vancouver, British Columbia, who was visiting Southern California on her own, was last seen at the Cecil Hotel on January 31. Los Angeles Police detectives had characterized her disappearance as suspicious.

A security video taken in an elevator at the hotel and released by the LAPD last week showed Lam acting strangely, hiding in a corner and repeatedly peering around the elevator doors into the hallway.

A body had been found in one of four large water tanks on top of the Cecil Hotel early on Tuesday after a maintenance worker went up to investigate reports of low water pressure, a Los Angeles police spokeswoman said.

Detectives were on the scene, but had not yet determined whether the remains were those of the missing woman, the spokeswoman said.

Some two dozen firefighters could be seen cutting through one of the four large, cylindrical water tanks under a canopy that shielded them from news helicopters overhead.

Police have said that the reason for Lam's visit to Los Angeles was unclear, but that her final destination was expected to be Santa Cruz in central California.

She speaks Cantonese as well as English and was known to use public transportation such as trains and buses.

Which is why I really don't think you should ever question an Asian brother ever again when I talk about how racist the west is. Even on this board you see westerners with white privilege going to East Asia to whoremonger instead of being good family men and clearly view East Asian females as sex objects and East Asian males as things less than dogs to kill. But, oh my, what if they have a son who looks very East Asian should they settle down there. Are they gonna kill their Asian looking son as well?

I was originally supposed to go to Russia to teach English, but lately, I've been thinking of going to Asia instead. I've recently applied with TeachAway to teach in Thailand, so, hopefully that goes through.

Then why are they still coming here and taking all the white collar jobs? The USA has been a destination for Asians to escape poverty for over a century and truly a land of opportunity for them the past 3-4 decades. However America is definitely not Western Europe or even England or Australia, it has a very stupid, violent and perverted populace and its "melting pot" assimilation model creates a lot of unnecessary identity problems and racial strife. The social norms in America get more unnatural with every year and its no wonder Americans have the highest rates of mental disorders in the world. The place is rotten to the core, people are unbalanced and simply not happy.

This might not matter to a married couple who is satisfied spending their free time sipping wine at home but the sick mainstream culture and lack of natural human interaction will affect their children negatively. But most choose to ignore this and focus on economic factors. "America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without knowing civilization." And when they do discuss it, they fall into "Philosophical Filipino/Lone Yakuza" type thinking, ranting about how much better those Whites or Blacks have it, even though the truth is everyone's happiness is undermined by all the unwritten laws in the "land of the free."

The foundation has always been shaky with its insane Puritanical values and degenerate Jewish-run Hollywood has further f***ed things up. I have seen how immigrants change when they stay here a few years and often times it is just not worth it. Too often the price for wealth and success is your soul. Still, America is a sort of paradise for women because there is a huge surplus of single males and career opportunities for women.

Even women who are ugly, fat, old, lazy, dumb, and have terrible personalities and lack basic feminine skills like the ability to cook dinner, have endless options to land a good and/or rich man[gina]. While America feels like a prison sentence for good men (or even boys) because of the anti-male schooling, the gender ratio made even worse by the sheer amount of fatties, ball-busting nanny-state laws, and fact that marriage material women are rarer than seven-leaf clovers.
