Did Putin Go Overboard?

Post by zacb »

Maybe it is me, but in the case of PussyRiot, he did not do anything wrong. They held a trial, and were convicted of a crime. And from the sounds of it, they made an impromptu show at the church. It's private property, and thus they were violating it. I could criticize Mr. Putin for some things (mysterious dealings a deaths) or praise him (12% flat tax), but in this case, I don't see the point. A bunch of women threw a fit, and just because they did something stupid they should be bailed out. I really don't get it. Yes Mr. Putin may be hard on alternative communities, but in this case these minorities in this case should not be defended.

Does not putting enough of them in jail and letting the few locked up out too soon count as overboard?
That whole gaggle of skanks should've been sent to dig coal in Si-fvcking-beria until Halley's comet came back.

Now now, we must respect the rule of law lol. But seriously, I don't see what Putin did wrong in this circumstance. He may be a sly authoritarian, but even he can be right, which in this case he is.

Putin did nothing wrong. There is a time and place for protests. The interior of a church is not such a place.

I really was pissed when they let the Greenpeace people go though. If you're dumb enough to f**k with a Russian rig, you deserve to feel the wrath of Russian law. They need to stop letting people get away with this bullshit. If you have a problem with deep sea drilling, making conditions dangerous for yourself and the rig workers does nothing to push your agenda.
