It should be noticed that Mr. Eben Alexander had been suspended and had been the subject of several malpractice lawsuits. He is in big troubles and need money for lawyers. I do not believe him a single word, he creates stories about an afterlife out of his fantasy which are selling well.
The story he presents about himself is questioned by medical doctors who claim he was in a medically induced coma and hallucinating.

Or perhaps more of a learning experience.Ghost wrote:It would be nice if after this shitty world there was a good place for your soul to end up, where they would tell you that it was just a bad dream, or perhaps a simulation to test your spiritual strength.

I think part of it may be that we have to have the experiences we have. Somehow having those experiences is essential and part of some higher order/structure/plan that is beyond the capacity of the human mind to understand.Ghost wrote:I wonder about that sometimes. And what if hell was, when you fail the 'class' you have to repeat it? Now that's a depressing thought considering how utterly humanity has collectively failed to learn much of anything.Cornfed wrote:Or perhaps more of a learning experience.Ghost wrote:It would be nice if after this shitty world there was a good place for your soul to end up, where they would tell you that it was just a bad dream, or perhaps a simulation to test your spiritual strength.

You don't need to wonder. Of course the afterlife is real, but only for the few. Many will simply die in hell for eternity, rather than having any true life.
A good man is above pettiness. He is better than that.
