You could use a bit more than a Wikipedia article. The Philippines was never close to being majority Muslim.
The majority of Filipinos were animists. The only area Muslims ruled was Mindanao, and even there the sultan received tribute from the non Muslim cities of northern Mindanao such as cagayan de Oro so the Muslim slave raiders would lay off. Areas to the north of Mindanao, and even cities such as cagayan de Oro entered into an alliance with the Spanish to put a stop to Islamic expansion from Mindanao.
Currently, Mindanao us about a third Muslim, with some provinces having a majority Muslim population.

Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon (which is pretty much the whole damn country). Originally inspired by buddhism and hinduism in the beginning, Islam started spreading like fire (more like cancer). Only when the spanish (catholic) came in did the philippines become dominantly christian.
