Brush-off cupcake on plane, get security "interview"

Post by Teal Lantern »

Offensive behavior highlighted.
a 40-year-old man — with dark, curly hair, olive skin and an exotic foreign accent — boarded a plane. It was a regional jet making a short, uneventful hop from Philadelphia to nearby Syracuse.
Or so dozens of unsuspecting passengers thought.

The curly-haired man tried to keep to himself, intently if inscrutably scribbling on a notepad he’d brought aboard. His seatmate, a blond-haired, 30-something woman sporting flip-flops and a red tote bag, looked him over. He was wearing navy Diesel jeans and a red Lacoste sweater – a look he would later describe as “simple elegance” – but something about him didn’t seem right to her.

She decided to try out some small talk.

Is Syracuse home? She asked.

No, he replied curtly.

He similarly deflected further questions.
He appeared laser-focused — perhaps too laser-focused — on the task at hand, those strange scribblings.

Rebuffed, the woman began reading her book. Or pretending to read, anyway. Shortly after boarding had finished, she flagged down a flight attendant and handed that crew-member a note of her own.
If SHE'S not interested, you're expected to f**k off or not even speak.
If YOU'RE not interested, that's a problem. GUARRRDS!! SEIZE HIM!!
Guess who's name ISN'T in the story.

Ivy League economist ethnically profiled, interrogated for doing math on American Airlines flight

"30-something woman sporting flip-flops" -- ick. I'd have brushed her off, too. :x

Fly Southwest where you can choose your seat, and never sit next to an American woman.

I remember that- wasn't it a math problem he was working on or something? I don't get how they're going to get the two confused- I don't read Arabic, but it's not the same continuous scribbles that you see whenever there's Arabic righting presented. It, to me, looks like a whole bunch of "J"s that are sometimes deformed. It looks like a continuous line of similar shapes with assorted dots, but the letter "J" all different ways seems like the right description to me.

I guess a lot of people just "ping" on things like with keywords on Google. "Associative activation error" seems like the right term for that. Then again, being too arrogant to catch their own mistakes & exciting their ego by figuring out ways that the other person is worse than them is another possibility ("Oh, they're a f**k-up?" [Instant Ego Trip] "Wow, I feel great!" [Gravitates Toward This Feeling Without Mentally Articulating The Deduction]- it's like someone shifting their weight onto their strong arm when doing push-ups in front of other people, they just veer away from that rickety feeling in their other arm without it being like a deduced cover-up) . Maybe both things at once?

In the gynocracy, the accuser doesn't have to be right or even have been there, she just has to complain - and you get named and shamed, thrown off the plane, out of the club, out of school, out of your job, even out of your own home.

They used to want the hamplanets buy two airline seats.
I want to see what happens when some guy has bought the 2 seats next to him on an overbooked flight.
