LeBron James just announced that he is getting married in September to longtime sweetheart Savannah Brinson. James and Brinson have been together since their high school days back in Akron, Ohio. The couple has two children together — LeBron Jr., 8, and Bryce, 5.

They've been engaged for a little over a year; James popped the question on New Year's Eve 2011 and gave her a $300,000 engagement ring.

It doesn't really matter, if they've been living together that long and have children of that age, it's probably already a common law marriage under Ohio or Florida law. He's already married to her, he just doesn't know it.

They have been together since high school. She must be doing something right and I don't mean sex. A man is not going to hold on to a girl in high school if she was not special to him. Signing a piece of paper is not necessary in order to be married in my eyes. You have people who are not "legally" married but live together and are 100 times happier than legally "married " people. Contract means nothing. If two people love each other, have children and live together they are married.

There will be people who have a "crabs in a barrel" and "if I can't have it, neither can you" mentality regarding the happiness of another and will assume failure on another person's marital happiness. I won't be apart of that mentality. Only God knows how their lives will play out. They have been together for many years and it has played out very well so I am happy for them.
