Blast it all Ukraine!
Winter is coming. All my neighbors see to the heating season. And I still didn't manage to sell my house in Bila Tserkva to escape Ukraine for my Polish relatives. So I have to stay here at least till the beginning of the next year. That's bloody murder! Everyone in a town buys electric water heaters and electric radiators. And the last time power lines were changed right after USSR collapse within my knowledge. Just imagine the start of first freeze-up when all 200 thousand folks would turn on their heaters...
I guess there will be just chars instead of town to the next spring for all fire stations have been closed for budget savings. All in all I was going to leave Ukraine because it became impossible to survive here with two little kids. It is just pity that I couldn't sell my house before this winter catastrophe. As for the rest – good riddance.

A bad situation but not so unexpected, in such countries you always should knowabout an escape route and be able to get away as quick as possible in case of shortages or unrest.
In Asia in many countries the situation is about the same, it's politically unstable, you never know what happens tomorrow. If you have money it should be in a banking account abroad. In case of serious political trouble - forget about the house and leave.
You have wife and 2 children? I see no much good future for you all in Ukraine, depsite you are not far away from the capital.
If you cannot sell the house, better move away nevertheless. Better safe than sorry.
