Post by jamesbond »

A record breaking blizzard hit the east coast of the US over the weekend setting snowfall records throughout the east coast. Baltimore Maryland received it's biggest snowstorm ever with 29.2 inches of snow.

In New Yorks LaGuardia Airport: 27.9 inches fell beating the previous record snowstorm of 25.4 inches which occurred on Feb. 11-12, 2006. At JFK Airport in NY, 30.5 inches fell beating the previous record snowstorm of 26 inches which occurred on Feb. 16-18, 2003.

In New York City's Central Park, the blizzard dumped 26.8 inches of snow on Central Park where records date back to 1869. This was just shy of the record snowstorm of 26.9 inches set Feb. 11-12, 2006.

At Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Maryland (BWI): 29.2 inches fell making it the largest snowstorm at that location ever. Records date back to 1892.

In Newark, New Jersey: 27.9 inches fell surpassing the Jan. 7-8, 1996 blizzard total of 27.8 inches. Records date back to 1893.

In Philadelphia: A storm total of 22.4 inches was recorded ranking as the fourth heaviest snowstorm. This is also equal to the amount of snow Philadelphia averages during the course of an entire season. In Allentown, Pennsylvania: 31.9 inches fell crushing the previous record storm from the 1996 blizzard total of 25.9 inches.
