Parable of the Elephant and the Moles

You can bring a ten ton elephant to the Washington Monument and have it push on the Washington Monument till forever and it will never fall over.

Or you can bring ten tons of moles to the Washington Monument and have them dig all the soil out from under one side of it. Give them long enough to do enough digging, and eventually the Washington Monument will fall over.
