Weird keyboard problem

I’m having a problem with my Apple keyboard. It is strange in that if you type a letter it will sometimes type another letter. So if you type “q” it will return “qz”. Usually pressing one of the offending keys several times causes it to return to normal, but then it goes back to the same behaviour a short time later. Very strange. Has anyone experienced this?

I think you may have to replace the keyboard. First try reinstalling the operating system. (Backup data then restore.)
