I went to Peru for a few weeks and lived in the Amazon. There are people there who still don’t use money. They look at money the way we use to look at smartphones; its the new technology being forced on them. Money is the source of the problem. It allows a select few to control the entire world with nothing more than pieces of paper (or now bits in a computer). It is a powerful illusion that controls billions.

If you don’t like modern scum, then support the rights of indigenous people. They still live on the land outside of the capitalist system. They are the only people left on earth who know how to live without smartphones and all the other crap.

Traditional Anabaptists and Ultra-Orthodox Jews know how to live without smartphones and all the other crap.

Indigenous people aren't modern scum, they are more like wildlife which is certainly preferable to modern scum but isn't quite the ideal. Strong religions that reject modern culture without being primitive are more appealing to me.

They are actually just as sophisticated as we are but know how to live as humans in harmony with nature. I went to the Amazon in Peru for a few weeks. There are still people who live without money. You get everything you need from the community. Developers take over their land to grow a single cash crop like sugar. But the indigenous farming is actually magnitudes more sophisticated than corporate farming allowing the growing of multiple plants on the same plot of land, in a way that doesn't use chemicals and regenerates forever. Modern society is not sustainable. They destroy nature and at some point civilization is going to destroy itself. That’s the ultimate solution. The humans who survive will be the indigenous, who can live off the land without money or scarce minerals.

I'm a tribalist, personally. I don't think humans are capable of living in peace beyond villages of a few hundred.
