Why do Filipino people go around the world begging for jobs?
If the Philippines is so great why don't Filipino people stay in their own country?

Re: why do Filipino people ...
The Philippines is great if you're a male American tourist who wants to date hot chicks less than half his age. It's not so great for the people of the Philippines themselves, unless they're in the top 1% of wealthiest people.Luc Furr wrote:If the Philippines is so great why don't Filipino people stay in their own country?
The USA is great if you're a woman, not so great if you're a man, unless the only thing you want out of life is to make money.

what part of cebu? I would have fought them lol What a hellhole philippines isTaco wrote:A third of the people don't have any food in their houses.
When my neighbors in Cebu didn't have anything to eat they just killed a stray dog and roasted it. Also, they'll go down to the ocean and collect sea shells and eat the gelatinous sea creatures inside them.
Its one of the few places were many speak the world's second language, English and has a growing population and able to provide young men and women to nations who are not having enough children to care for their elderly and power their economies.
Not being on a major landmass people are the easiest export product. You are not going to ship materials to the Philippines for manufacturing only to have to ship the finished product back out. They do not have the ports available to make it cost effective

It's over 40% unemployed in the U.S.

THUS, over 50% in the Phils is not a stretch.
How to check this info:
(A) Count the adults you know who are not mothers of small children or in a nursing home.
(B) Count How many of them go to work every day and get paid a full-time salary.
Divide B by A.
That's the percent who have jobs.
You should rethink whether to accept government propaganda.
The unemployment rate for FULL-TIME jobs among YOUNG people with low education level is indeed 50 percent in Cebu and some other islands nearby.hammanta wrote:Oh come on it's high but 50% is just comical. Malnutrition rate is up to 30 percent among elementary school children from poor families.
Some young people (like the cousin of my Filipina fostergirl, who is 19 years old and from Bohol island) are working part-time in Cebu (about 4 hours/ USD 1,- per hour, fast-food, factories etc.), and some others are living from the relatives who still have a job, medical services are against cash only. No cash and die early.
While all is available for people who have money, the income of ordinary people is really low, they earn often just enough to survive somehow.

Yes, this is correct. There is often nothing in the house.Taco wrote:A third of the people don't have any food in their houses
Many in Cebu City in the suburbs do not have a refrigerator, some even no electricity. They cannot kept any food in the house, except a can of powdered milk for their children, and some cheap canned food like fish and some rice in a sack and a few bottles of water.
Full time workers without higher education do not earn more than php 10.000,- to 12.000 a month/ about USD 230,- to 275,-. This is about USD 8 to 10 per working day.
The high unemployment is partly caused by immigration.Raja wrote:Its one of the few places were many speak the world's second language, English and has a growing population and able to provide young men and women to nations who are not having enough children to care for their elderly and power their economies.

If Filipinos couldn't go abroad as OFW they would have forced change in the Philippines long ago.
If America couldn't take people from other countries it would have to change its economy to address the imbalances.
But change is hard especially for democrazies.
Like Raja says people are an export product. Goods and resources not people are what should be being traded.
For starters, what source are you using or is it personal observation? The unemployment rate for FULL-TIME jobs among YOUNG people with low education level is indeed 50 percent in Cebu and some other islands nearby.
Second, you used 3 different criteria to make your point. Taco said unemployment was 50%, it is not. I never said it wasn't higher for certain demographics.
I could say unemployment is high in the U.S among young Black ex-cons, doesn't mean the whole country reflects that statistic.
