He just sounds like he's trying to pick a fight that's gonna bite him in the ass. Barry just wants attention that's all and if he does have 'grievances' he should use that fire to fix the state of affairs in his community first before messing with another. Plus I don't understand why do asians have to care about us and our situation if most of our people don't even care and choose to ignore it???

How can he hate on another group of people who are just trying to survive in the U.S and not sound like the people in power who would say the same about him? Uuuuh...~sighs~

Yes, exactly Dark. I don't understand why some blacks have such resentment towards Asians when it's partly Blacks fault for not fixing the problems in their own communities; how about Black men start becoming better fathers to their children? Or, how about Black parents start disciplining their children and make Black children study just as hard as many Asian kids. How about kicking all the gangsters out of the neighborhoods and start patrolling the streets to get rid of all the drug dealers plaguing black communities? How about Blacks start to pool their resources together like Asians and Jews and start their own businesses?

The problems in the Black community is not permanent and can be fixed--if and when-- Blacks start to get their act together and work hard to achieve success. If Blacks worked together as a group, they could be very successful as any other ethnic group in America. But it's the Black leaders like Marion Barry, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson that have failed to convey this message to the Black people and have only served to divide Blacks against other races.

Yeah you see with Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the rests they have their own interests to serve. I mean once upon a time they started with the best intentions to serve and save our communities, but overtime greed, jadedness, and money won out. So now they provide us with lip service, but no real solutions to the problems that still plague us. They make people feel good, because they tell them what they want to hear, but that's it.
To actually use their power to be of some use they would have to step on some toes and so that's a conflict of interest.

So instead the problems are always out there somewhere and never in here in the home and minds of the people. Yes economically, financially, and any other way you can think black people got screwed and are still getting screwed.
The difference now though there's no physical resistance holding us back. I believe mentally sure, but in the flesh no. If our older generations could create/enable some status, neighborhoods, support, community, and wealth in times when they were not seen as anything why can't we now?
Sure poverty is a major major drawback, but that means get creative.
Don't let where you come from trap you in a box. It's not where you come from, but where your going. Make decisions that matter and is going to bring some positive effects into your life. This is what they should be saying. Help yourself in order to help others and not drag each other down.
I mean from centuries of oppression black people as a whole should be understanding and welcoming to other minorities in a anglo society.
Our ancestors have that experience of being outsiders in a country that refuses to accept you.
It's only misplaced hatred and the feeling of competing with another group of people who Mr. Barry feels is stealing territory.
They don't see the connection there and that's really sad.
