Racist comments from Western men towards Lisa Ling marriage

Just read some of the racist comments from Western men, regarding Lisa Ling's marriage to an Asian man and having a child, a few years ago on a Yahoo article.

This is exactly what infuriates Asian men, when we're accused of playing the 'race-card' and/or being racist when Westerners (both Black, White and Latin) put Asian men down, and make racist comments towards Asian women marrying or dating Asian men (instead of them)!

Look how Contrarian ignores -- or fires back -- if someone disrespects his race. Are there problems in Black America? Sure. But he appears supremely confident.

Or those smart-mouthed Brits in Asia. Brits bash Aussies, all bash Yanks and Thais, etc. Nothing phases them. Most of these guys are probably whoremongering louts who have to p4p. LOTS to criticize. But are they self-conscious? Nope.

The same, I think, with Koreans in Korea. Convinced they are the best.

Japanese in Hawaii, the same.

And Brits everywhere, really.

Maybe the French too.

Russians for sure.

I guess what I would want to convey to some of the Asian guys on here, is:
"Don't let'em see you sweat."

Something like that.



PS This is one of those posts I am not sure I should make, because it is a "sense" or a "feeling" more than a rational POV. AND it's kind of a not-really-my-business topic. And I guess if a guy needs to rant about stuff like this, HA **IS** the place to do it...

It pissed me off, to be honest.

There is a mentality that makes ongoing personal and racist attacks for no reason except one:
The vile individual making the attack is filled with boiling hatred and often, real self loathing.
The term "random free-floating aggression" has been used to describe it. I have seen it in other races and places, but within the USA, there are a lot of white trash types and ghetto minded blacks that go there all the time. These self loathing types, especially the white trash kind, are pretty common and there are a number of them that post on this forum. Mean, hateful and small minded, they boil with rage that there might be someone of a different race that is in fact their better, or even be taking their "whimin".

Typically, they are underachievers in life and tend to be clumped at the low end of the socioeconomic scale. They feel powerless and I would bet that women avoid them like the plague, which only adds to their anger. Usually they are cowards, but in packs they can be dangerous, so it is good to be well armed if you have any contact. Fortunately most of them do not get beyond cowardly keyboard commando type racial attacks, and of course, an intelligently moderated site would weed them out.
Fortunately, most of them have no future.

To Jester: yeah, I know I should let those comments 'roll-off,' but I have deep concerns about the Asian American community--and that will never change, even when I'm living outside the Anglosphere. I can't help it, but I am a product of my environment, and will always carry that burden and negativity of being an "Asian American" throughout my life (even if I want to forget).

That's the whole point! Western men get shocked and angry that an Asian women would think of marrying an Asian man. That kind of thinking is very prevalent among non-Asian men. If you don't believe me, go check out any forum such as City Data, Oriental Expat, Yahoo Answers, Topix, ChinaSmack or WorldPress--when they talk of Asian men, and you will see what I mean. And Asian men are frequently trashed on those (and other websites) as well.

Sorry, I rushed my comments as I should've put in "Asian" obviously. As for the 'mixing race' comments, I was angry and I shouldn't have wrote that. But I had to lash out at all the sickening Asian female sexualization and fetish comments that were kind of disturbing to me and to my Asian female friend (who I shared the article with), that I was discussing this article with. It really bothered both of us, to be honest...

It's difficult for non-Asian men to understand the anger in the Asian male community--with the exception of Black Americans, who also have to deal with similar issues of racial discrimination, exaggerated sexual stereotypes and problems with their other gender (Black American women).

It's more about an American woman of Asian ethnicity marrying an American man of Asian ethnicity.
(Asian ethnicity = frequently Chinese, some Koreans, but surely it is NOT about all Asians)

There is idiot-stuff like that on the internet in all directions, any race, for example against white men marrying Asian women.
(White men stealing our women etc.)

There is also stuff about to feel sorry (or sometimes not to feel sorry) about white men marrying white women with a divorce rate between 50 to 70 percent. Usually initiated by the white woman a few years later, it is the white man after divorce who is living in poverty.

This nonsense racist BS-talk will never end - especially US-citizens do not understand that it is in reality about Western educated women regardless their ethnicity. It's not about race.

...and then there are the rice-kings. You know, the ones who prey on third-worlders (Filipinas in particular) in order to assuage their inadequacy complexes over their inability to keep a non-destitute woman- one with real options in life.

Wow...is that what happened to you? Did you find yourself in the situation with a filipina? Was she destitute?
Some of those work out, but some do not. Sorry if you had bad luck with your efforts. I have never
been in the situation- just lucky I guess...and I DO pay attention. My wife is an engineer and comes from a money family. She had plenty of options I am sure. I doubt that any member of her
family ever had a destitute moment.

On the other hand, I have seem dirt poor Filipinas turn down a man with money due to her reservations about his character, so some men strike out regardless. That would really hurt, to have
even a dirt poor girl turn a man down because she sees him as such an undesirable character.
