"Lean In" by Sheryl Sandburg

Post by pandabear »

Here is her famous quote from the book:

"“When looking for a life partner, my advice to women is date all of them: the bad boys, the cool boys, the commitment-phobic boys, the crazy boys. But do not marry them. The things that make the bad boys sexy do not make them good husbands. When it comes time to settle down, find someone who wants an equal partner. Someone who thinks women should be smart, opinionated and ambitious. Someone who values fairness and expects or, even better, wants to do his share in the home. These men exist and, trust me, over time, nothing is sexier.”

Rather refreshing to see a woman actually admit what the females are up to. An article on her book: http://observer.com/2015/05/science-say ... urt-women/

The linked article is a good read, and surprisingly written by a woman. Basically the author of the article, Amy Alkon, says how Sheryl Sandberg's book is a fluff and lack scientific vigor. It's yet another feel-good book for insecure women that does more harm to women while at the same time making Sandberg herself richer from book sales.

Here's one quote from the article:
A Sandbergian fantasy: “Women will tear down the external barriers once we achieve leadership roles.”

Science says: A woman might tear down the external barriers so she can get in—and then throw them right back up so other women can’t.
Wish more people click the link and read it. Personally, I think OP gave too much attention to Sandberg's little cock carousel story which overshadowed the much more meaningful link at the bottom.
