I think the simp phenomenon was exacerbated by the almost 2 years much of the Western world spent under the absurd Covid lockdowns, travel bans and restrictions. Generations of relatively affluent young men, forced to work from home at probably 50% of their usual productivity, suddenly found themselves with a surplus of time and money.

I think many of these young men resorted to the fluttering thrills of watching a cute girl showing skin, or simply showing her pretty face with fancy make up on, in exchange for money. Never in history women were able to give so little and get so much in return.

What we are seeing now is simply the inevitable mean reversion. Why spend $500 a month to watch a faux-underage girl with pigtails and large breasts eat carrots whole, when for the same price you could fly to Mexico or Romania and, for a similar amount, have sex once a week with actual hotties, flesh and bones, jugs and butts?

That makes sense. I heard of Onlyfans, on here at first probably, and elsewhere back during the Covid crisis. I never used it. Is it kind of like naked TikTok? Is it a live strip show with a girl taking orders, or both? I'm guessing more like the former since girls get so many followers. Anyway, what you say makes sense. in the US, the government doled out lots of money with no GDP to back it up. So men who were lonely and foolish could blow lots of money on OnlyFans.

Then the inflation kicks in and they can actually interact with real women. So they have less money, more time, and other things to do.

Peloton did well during the lockdown, too. But who wants to exercise in their living room all the time when they can go outside?
