'Men are failing us,' says woman planning demonstration

Post by Teal Lantern »

tl;dr Not enough men are acting as disposable meat-shields for women

In the past two months, according to police, three women have been shot by thieves over their pocketbooks.
And Thursday, a man was shot chasing men who snatched his girlfriend's purse.

Oh, wait, there's one. Think he'll get any extra loyalty points?

Philadelphia reels from yet another senseless purse snatching/homicide. The latest happened early Sunday as two women left the Tropical Heat nightclub at 53rd and Market streets following a night of karaoke. Two men in hooded sweatshirts confronted the women about 2:35 a.m., took their handbags, then opened fire, killing Melissa Thomas, 29, and injuring her friend.

All because of a damn handbag.

"She gave it up and she still was killed," said Sanchez, 40, an administrative assistant. "It's 2:40 in the morning. She's just coming out of the bar. At 2-something in the morning, they probably didn't have that much cash on them.

"Where are our men? Why are they not protecting us?" Sanchez continued, her voice full of frustration. "Men are failing us. I feel as though we are not being protected."

"Where are our men?" At 2 am? Ummm ... working 3rd shift while you troll for free drinks & strange cock, at the bar?
"Our men" implies ownership. What happened to "strong & independent" and you "owe men nothing"?
Any protection this bicycle can provide, you fish can provide better ... and in heels.
My cape is retired. You'll suffer no more "benevolent sexism" from me, ladies. :D
Maybe you can call Big Daddy GovHubby & his donut grazing gang of white knights in blue.
Better yet, call Hanna 'End of Men' Rosin. Ask her "Now what?"

Texas student tased by police exits coma, enters rehab

A 17-year-old Texas student who spent 52 days in a medically induced coma after police used a Taser on him at school entered a full-time rehabilitation facility Friday, his family's attorney said.
Do you remember being 17? That "whole life ahead of you" thing?
Noe Nino de Rivera was transported to the hospital on November 20 after Bastrop County Sheriff's Deputy Randy McMillan, serving as a school resource officer, used the device on him after the teen tried to defuse a school fight involving two girls, one of them his girlfriend, said attorney Adam Loewy.
No word on the fate of the fighting females.
Thus endeth the lesson, and probably the relationshit.

Yeah I Guess people are waking up to the fact that the odds of being caught for homicide are not actually very high. Combine that with the fact that a large chunk of the US is akin to a 3rd world country and you have yourself a banana republic full of crime and violence (and yes, I really mean that dead serious. A large percentage of (legal) US nationals are living below the poverty line, i.e. are living in the 3rd world).

After all is said and done in 200 years I am pretty sure North America will be reduced to a 3rd rate country in comparison to European and Asian countries. All this because the importance of military is fading (the more destructive military action becomes, the less viable it becomes because it will do too much damage to both sides) and economic power will be all-important.

5 years ago I would've loved to emigrate to the US, but now I wouldn't move there if they paid me to.
