In Thailand you can find similar mannequins with opened mouth, however the intended purpose may not be what you think.

If you book a private bus tour, at the end of the tour they'd take you to some jewelry store hoping that you'd buy something. At the front steps of the store you'd find many golden colored pigs statues with the wide mouth smile toward the incoming customers. At the store the main door only opens inward, and at the cashier's you'd find a piggy bank where the coin slot is turned toward the customer. The exit door is smaller and toward the side. This all confirms to Asian superstitions about drawing money in and not let it go out. At the swap meet you might find some venders with mannequins with the same wide mouth smile pointed toward the customers.

Very funny title & true, I suppose. I don't leave the house much .. I avoid americans at as much as possible. Not worth the time & effort to weed them out to find the .010 % who are awake & not lying to themselves.

They gotta rant about something I suppose. Mannequins are representing models, male and female. You don't see fashion models smiling while they walk the runway. Mannequins are NOT representative of the population...thankfully. They are thin, in proportion and should stay that way. I never want to see a Mannequin that represents the true size/look of our population. I already get angry when I see any "BIG AND BEAUTIFUL" clothing section....makes my blood boil. Obesity is yet another disease that is destroying this country.

They use those kind in Philippines also. PI tends to use faceless ones as well. The realistic ones haven't caught on in PI for some reason.
