I want to add here what a guy from Belgium sees as his least favorite things about Western culture:

1) materialism / too much focus on financial gain

2) the need to constantly compare ourselves to other people

3) we're more guarded and less warm than other cultures

I agree completely, western countries base too much importance on material things. Also, people from western countries like to compare themselves to others and "keep up with the Jones." People from western countries are way more guarded and paranoid of strangers than people from non western countries and they are much less friendly and accepting of strangers.

White people buy houses in nice neighborhoods, only to stay to themselves and not talking to their neighbors and if they do it's just superficial talk. And yeah, US culture is too "focused" and "competitive". Asian culture is less serious and more cheerful.

What finally made me drop out 100% completely is "white American culture". White culture is based on power and this is sadistic and masochistic. White people are f***ing weird and they are socially closed off to each other. There is zero social harmony and zero social cohesion and cooperation in white culture. Finally, experiencing the peacefulness, warmth, love of Asia is how I realized how f***ed up white America is. And the fact that living in Asia for 5 years made me realize that I just fit in there.
