My conclusion after 5 days in Taiwan in Taipei, Taichung, and Chiayi is that Taiwan is a hive mind culture. They all repress their emotions and wildness to submit to the sphere of collectivism. Taiwanese women are decent looking I will say.
.....
I wouldn't be able to live in Taiwan simply because I cannot speak Mandarin.
You made a very good video, this is about how Taiwan really is. It's about like Japan, but Japan is still the much better choice.
However people living in these both countries are not very communicative, even not among themselves.

Not be able to live in Taiwan because you cannot speak Mandarin? You could say the same here in Japan, if you cannot speak AND read Japanese and if you don't have a family you will be an illiterate. Out of the few countrymen from my own native country in Europe who decided to live permanently in Japan, all of them as far as I know them are married with Japanese women and have a regular job/income.

Taiwan and Japan are not so bad if you stay there as a visitor only for a short time as a tourist and it might be an interesting experience, but to live there as a foreigner and to earn a reasonable income is another very different and not such an easy issue.

@Yohan After living in Japan for so many years, do you have Japanese friends? Are Japanese people cliquish and closed off? Is it hard to make friends there?

Good question -
It is basically the same here as it is in Taiwan (which was a Japanese colony).

I do not have Japanese friends - however living here for a long time, I can confirm that it is the same behavior/life-style among Japanese people themselves.

It is not because I am a foreigner.

Japanese people have clearly communication issues, often also an alcohol and gambling problem, they are not really outgoing people.

However about service of any kind I cannot complain, living here for a long time, I found always quick help whenever I needed it, might be a medical doctor or a problem with my cars, or anything from a repair service related to our home, shops or banks, or restaurants - always welcome in a friendly way - same is also true for government related offices, like ward office, tax office, driving licence office, garbage removal, immigration etc.
No bad experiences at all.

My few friends are from Europe, from Philippines and Malaysia. (and not from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan)
