Isn't it hell to work in an office everyday?

Winston, I don't work in an office. I have done that in the past. It was not a bad experience for me.

Now I work from home. If I want to take the day off, that's what I do. If I want to spend an hour responding to whiners on HA, I do it. If I want to work 12 hours on Sunday, I do it. If I want to take 2 months off and travel, I do it. I am quite happy with my work, right here in the USA. I know it seems impossible for the HA Loser Faction, but it is real.

As far as your office experience on your resume, you have skipped around from an entry level job in one field to an entry level job in another field...rinse and repeat. You must be valuable in order to be valued.

And then there is your personality. Did you constantly piss and moan on the job like you do on HA? Like I mentioned before, productive and positive people enjoyed working for me. You would not enjoy working for me or someone like me. I suspect that is the situation at all of your past jobs.

Also, I thought, doesn't it suck when:

- You're traveling to China, or somewhere else, and have to go back home after two weeks because you have a job that you have to go back to?

- When you have to get to the office at 8am and smile and greet everyone and pretend you are in a great mood, even when you aren't?

- When you worked in an office, didn't you hate having to go through this everyday:

"Good morning *your name*! How are you?"
"I'm great. How about you?"
"Oh I'm not too bad. Just trying to adjust from the weekend. How was your weekend?"
"Not bad. It was alright. I just relaxed."
"Well hang in there. It'll be Friday again before you know it."
Etc.?

Didn't you hate those kind of trivial conversations you had to put up with at work in corporate America?

- Didn't you hate having to look forward to Friday just so that you could get two more days of freedom again and sleep in? That sucked huh? It meant your whole week was something you didn't like except for the weekend. Isn't that an awful existence?

- When you were in the office everyday, did it make you feel depressed when you heard the laser printer whirring all day while it printed out tedious shit? That whirring sound of the printer/laser jet brings back bad memories for me of drudgery. What about you?
Yes, I agree totally. They are only there to use you up and fire you then you're too old.

Here's a great pop song from the 80's called "Manic Monday" about how it sucks to wake up to go to work on Monday morning. It reflects how Americans with shitty jobs feel.

No, are you kidding? You can't act like that at work. You gotta put on the fake mask. You know how it is. No way can I be myself at work.

Most of my employers liked me because I radiate a lot of genuineness and sincerity on my face and in my vibe, which is very refreshing to them because not a lot of people have that. I also radiate a vibe that makes people feel that they can trust me. So I give off a good impression to job interviewers. I have references too. And I was promoted to team leader once too.

I've had bad jobs and good jobs. Both. The jobs you see on my resume are the good ones. The ones that sucked I didn't list.

I did not have a bad attitude. I was only unhappy cause I had nothing to do after work. No fun, romance, adventure, drama, excitement, etc. Nothing to do but watch TV and go on the computer. Not by choice too.

To tell you the truth, Winston, I don't mind it at all. The work isn't miserable, I'm mostly busy on some project, so I hardly ever talk to my co-workers except when I need to. And they're actually not bad people. Occasionally we even talk about light, trivial stuff, although I usually let them do most of the talking because I don't like talking much, and they obviously prefer to talk more than listen, so it all works out. I'm at the point where I have few expectations in life anymore and I've figured out there's no such thing as a "dream job." As far as I'm concerned, drudgery goes with the territory but as long as it's tolerable, what the *%#$?

Can you guys imagine walking into this type of environment below everyday, and putting on a fake smile to everyone? lol. Wouldn't that suck? Isn't that so fake? lol. Also, doesn't the environment in the images below look as if it were designed to turn humans in mechanized droids and automatons?

I consider the typical 9-5 as modern day slavery and considered to be the riskiest form of income. It's different if you take a job as a means to supplement your income or to fulfill "boredom" but to rely strictly on a "JOB" is risky and depressing. The reason why I say it's risky is because you never know when you can get fired or replaced by another slave that is willing to do the same exact job for less pay. I encourage everyone to try to start their own little business. It is 100 times more gratifying and freedom you will not get from a 9-5 desk job.

The big problem with most American workers is that they allow their slave jobs to control their lives. The average American is terrible with their finances and accumulate debt beyond their means to pay. The moment they get a slight raise in pay, they immediately increase their debt...whether it's buying a more expensive car, bigger home, etc. The truth is that the large majority of people are too scared to venture on their own because they have this false illusion that by working for someone else, they are more "secure". But it's far from secure, it's risky. They are brainwashed by companies that offer them "benefits"....benefits that YOU really pay. The company makes you believe they are offering you benefits but in reality...it's already factored in your salary.

I have personal friends that have lost their corporate jobs randomly of a whim because someone else was able to replace them at a much lower pay. Keep in mind that these friends have been loyal slaves...I mean employees for their companies for many years...we're talking 5-15+ years. There is no such thing as "job security". If you have to work for someone, don't let it be your only source of income...that way if you hate it, you can have the satisfaction of telling the whole office to go f**k themselves and not worry about not having enough money to survive the next week. :D

This 9-5 Live for Friday and die on Monday mentality I thought was in third world countries more ..as we are the slave shops for most western corporations now a days

When you pass college, there is tremendous pressure to look for a job and when you get a job, there is pressure to get married and then when you get married, there is pressure to get babies atleast two and after that putting kids to school misery and looking after them to get grades and THEN..your parents become old and you have to take care of them as well...This is basically the life story of 99% of Indians. You can't catch a breath here...Its like dying every moment of your existence...

If you have a soul, question things around...Its death to be born in a third world country....Plus a weak third world currency and visa restrictions doesn't allow you to travel easily to other countries..You are stuck and dead

-------------------------

Thinking deeper and deeper to get out of the misery of 9 to 5....I think Choice is an Illusion......Like Coke and Pepsi..Both controlled by same forces.....Even without a job...We can't get too far, I have tried that for a year and to be free and traveled and yet I felt the invisible forces still controlling my life....It just waits and waits and waits till it puts you in a very difficult situation which would it then squeeze your pain with 9 to 5 job equivalent.

Freedom on earth is an Illusion it seems, you get out of one prison and it puts you into another...you get out of that and it puts you into another one and so on...Its an endless cycle of pain and misery...My biggest goal in life was to get out of 9 to 5 job and work from home...now that I have it...There are other problems around me, which refuses to go away...The darkness still has that status quo around me...

One time in The Ph ...I had everything for six months....girl, money, condo, party, travel time, good savings and good contract work not tied to time...Yet, slowly, The darkness waited waited and waited for me to make a single mistake and it took everything away from me in a day :(..back to square one....

The above scenario seems to happen to many...Once we get out of our prison ...It seems, this force ...lets us out to the world and make us believe that the world revolves around us...aka Beginners luck...and then when we are at the peak...It crashes us with full force and puts us in a new prison which due to our lack of confidence and past failures makes us even more difficult to get out of this new prison.

Also, I believe, it is using HOPE as a big weapon to make us go in circles like Ohh...If I make it to PH, If I make it to Europe, If I become a millionaire, If I get a gf etc....Even if we achieve few of the things we hoped for...It creates bigger problems other ways to keep our quota of misery same
