The campesiños vs. The real Mexicans (long @ss thread)

Post by E_Irizarry »

I really really want the follow HA members to get involved like Q-Tip featuring Raphael Saadiq in this thread (INCLUDING ANYBODY ELSE):

skateboardstephen , Falcon, colibri, RoyalDude, Ladislav, AmericanInMexico, zboy1, ContrarianExpatriate, All_That_Is_Man (because he’s fcukin’ around in MX now), DatingAbroad, & maybe Andrewwww (even though he loathes me), etc. and etc. I left people out; please do not become annoyed. I am sorry in advance!

The aforementioned have indisputable skill in demystifying social amores of N. and Latin America.

So in any event, here we go:
1. Campesiños:
Mexicans whom are from the rural parts of Mexico (Los campos son “farm fields/rural landsâ€￾)
Yes, this includes spawn/offspring whom have been naturalized or were born in the U.S. as MX-Americans.
Mexicans whom are from the northern part of Mexico whom come here illegally
Have a superiority complex over people whom are not Mexican (even they dislike Puerto Ricans every now and then)
One example of this subnote is when I was in Dallas, Texas two years ago, I met a Puerto Rican guy whom hung out with Black Americans and were ace-boon-coon (no pun to coon) with one another. He told me a story which had transpired like the following: one day a couple of Mexican campesiños approached him after his Black friend went about his business, “A ver, por que estas con eso prieto? Por que pasas tiempo con el? Se portan como monos. Parecen como monos.â€￾ (“Look here, why are you with that n*gger? Why do you spend time with him? They act and look like monkeysâ€￾.) He said, “No te deberian meter en algo cuando no te llamo. Ese es mi amigo por eternadad!â€￾ And walked away. He basically replied that’s my friend and mind your damn business.
Use very simple Spanish. The only complex Spanish they use is the Mayan-Spanish like “Cuatemeuacâ€￾ or “Atotonilcoâ€￾ something like that.
Typically are indigenous/mestizos (light-skin or not)

2. Los verdaderos Mexicanos (The real Mexicans):
Come in all prominent, different physical forms and have similar vernaculars of dialect
Seemingly are more acceptable of gringos than the campesiños whom “immigrateâ€￾ the U.S. of Gay are.
Usually are taller/tall in general
Use phrasal verbs in lieu of dumbed-down Spanish half of the time (I’m assuming?) At least, in Chile and Colombia, they use phrasal verbs. Bolivia doesn’t use “big wordsâ€￾ but they still have enough respect for “extranjeros k no sean bolivianosâ€￾

Here’s what happened to me in the taqueria hoy:
Me: “Hola como esta? Como le siente hoy?â€￾ (Hello how are ya? How do you feel today?â€￾)

The vieja bigot: “Can I take your order?â€￾ [with a broken Mexican accent and a perma-scowl on her face, yet there were no customers in the store whatsoever but me!]

Me: [although she replied scathing me a tad, I tucked it away (for now)]….â€￾I would like to have a double cheeseburgerâ€￾.

The vieja: “Would you like fries with that?â€￾ [Very stoic-like]

Me: “Yes, thank you, madame.â€￾ [She didn’t offer me a drink nor a special at this moment and never actually at all did]

The vieja: “5-48â€￾.

I had rendered payment at this moment. Received change with her putting the change on my receipt (Another thread I’m about to make based off of this!).
A prominent-looking Mexican man stepped in restaurant, and all of a sudden, it was a novela se llama “La Belleza Y El Bestiaâ€￾ (“The Beauty and The Beastâ€￾) or some shit like that!

The dialogue went in this manner:

She: “Hola. Que quiere?â€￾ [con una sonrisa – with a smile – “Hello, what would you like to have?â€￾] [Me gustaria or Quisiera is the more proper way to say it in this context.]

Mexican man: “Quiero una hamburguesa sin queso y una orden de papas fritas x favorâ€￾ [“I want a hamburger without cheese & an order of fries, please.â€￾]

She: “Quiere cebolla por encima, señor?â€￾ [“Do you want onions on that, sir?â€￾]

He said “Síâ€￾.

Here’s when la caca hit the fan….
She: “Algo para tomar?â€￾ [“Something to drink?â€￾] [GTFOH! Really?!?!!?!? Tu puta madre!]

I: “Esperate! You mean to tell me that you offer him something to drink and not me. We both ordered almost the same thing??â€￾

She: “What are you talking about? I didn’t offer him anything to drink!â€￾
I: “..then what in the hell does “algo para tomarâ€￾ mean? I doesn’t mean that it’s a name of a Mexican dish now does it!!!??

She: “Listen. You seem like you are starting sh*t with me because you feel small! No, now you wait…I’m speaking…wait wait!â€￾ [en her high voice]

I: “Can you stop overtalking me? I’m trying to get my point across about how, from what I heard, that Mexicans are more hospitable in your home country than here in Chicago.â€￾

She exhorted, “Your burgers are on the grill. Okay?!?â€￾

I retorted, “I’m tired of spending my money here. I really want to go to a country that they don’t speak English because that way they have to speak to me in their native tongue and respect me that I can too!! I speak to you in Spanish, and you speak to me in broken English like I’m a piece of caca. Estoy arte de tu mierda. Pareces como la caga de mierda de la tierra mas puta tu eres!!â€￾ [I’m tired of your sh*t. You are the lowest of the low you sl*ut you are!]

She, “What did you say??? You only said one word in Spanish!â€￾

I replied, “Yeah. Ya entendiste eso!â€￾ [You already understood that!â€￾]

Her mangina son (en la cocina) was standing there hopeless like Dionne Farris. [I wish he would have joined in, but he didn’t LOL]

El caballero mexicano/cliente no hace nada either. He didn’t do nada either but wait for his order, too.

She had gone on, “All Americans that come in here speak three languages. I too speak three languages.â€￾

I said, “That’s a serious deflection. You don’t want to be culpable for your bigot actions. You know well Americans can barely speak ONE LANGUAGE!! I swear, you are a friggin’ racist!â€￾

She jumped up, “You people always pull that race stuff! I speak ah English to you because you are American!!â€￾ [She fcukin’ said that…I was hot and full of steam at that point!]

I: “Wow!!!!!! For somebody that speaks broken English, you know quite a few American idiosyncrasies pragmatic to its culture!!!!!! Voce fala portugues??â€￾
She, *five second pause* “Muito.â€￾ [“Very [much so]â€￾ but said it with very slowly with hesitation and without confidence]

I then and there got the mangina syndrome as I didn’t think that an Americanized Mexican (not a Mexican-American but a westernized one!) with a broken English accent – looking like she snuck over here to the States - that evens know the basics of BR Porto. Yeah, I was stunned. LOL
Damn…she won in an upset match. :-/

I then exclaimed to her, “You are out of control!!â€￾ Her son finished packaging up my order.
I received my order, and I had left the bldg…..

Can you guys dispel if the “real Mexicansâ€￾ are “mas genial/mas chevere que los campesiñosâ€￾ (more awesome or just simply better people) are?

Boy, maybe if I were to have my mother’s Brazilian pointy-protruding nose and her “gud hairâ€￾, maybe just maybe I’d get more respect from stateside Latinos. I guess because I got my father’s petite-yet-bellpepper nose, that I’m Don Cheadle dipped in vanilla-with-caramel or something.
Latinos in general in passing al supermercado/a la carniceria (supermarket/butcher) speak to my mother in Spanish half of the time, and they become enraged when she says she doesn’t speak Spanish but only some Porto. My mother is American yet her grandparents are from NE Brasil – my great-grandparents of course. *sigh*

I’m beyond flustered with this ingrate-like, pompous, philistine crap from the Mexicans here in the U.S. of Gay.

e.g. Here’s what Latino’s parents/grandparents statesides’ actions are saying to me by proxy of political correctness: “Si señor. Ud podria a comer aqui como un cliente a mi restaurante, pero ud. no pueda a salir una cita con mi sobrina ni hija. No le puede!â€￾
(Translation: “Yes sir. You can eat here at my restaurant as a client but you cannot go on a date with either my niece nor daughter. You just can’t!â€￾)

Even Black people think I’m weird. I open my mouth, they make their excuses and leave. The “bummiestâ€￾ (if there’s such a word) of Black men always ask me “squares, player, squaresâ€￾ because he’s selling man-made rolled-up cigarettes on the street and fcukin’ call me “broâ€￾ (I hate when any race of man calls me that. Ugh!)

Last week, I was hit on by a car of two dark-skinned Black fa_ggets as I was leaving the Chinese-Szechuan food spot. (Double friggin ugh!!!!)
But not one Black woman can make idle chatter with me. I feel like Pierre from “How To Be A Playerâ€￾, and they dissed him because he was light-skinned and the movie was made in 1996 (four years after Wesley Snipes stabbed Christopher Williams in the hand making dark-skinned men en vogue from thereon at that point).

I really am a “blackâ€￾ sheep (based how I’m treated, I might as well say ‘pun intended’). But at least I am not sheeple! *smiles*

I cannot wait until I go back to Brasil. That’s the only place *besides the Philippines* that some of the people claim me as a native “cuyoâ€￾ (Tagalog for “brotherâ€￾ of related nature) or “mermãoâ€￾. ..and actually become enraged when I deny being one of them!
Everytime I had gone through Spanish-speaking part of S. America, indigenitos always had asked if I’m brasileño. What a life I have! I would be safer by wearing green, yellow, on a dark blue planet with stars chanting “Order & Progressâ€￾ chilling at the “praiaâ€￾ listening to sertaneja with a mestissa that looks hot like ex-porn star Monica Santhiago with “gud hairâ€￾ that Black American women would sew into their scalp at a drop of a hat! (I don’t have the international keyboard nor know the codes off-hand). Four more years aqui….that’s all I swear, ask All-4-One.

Good rant.

The ambushing-the-immigrant with your knowledge of their language is funny.

I am aware of Armenians here treating White people rudely - it's rare, but has happened to my knowledge. I enjoy setting them straight.

People are like dogs sometimes, let them think they have a home, and they start barking at passersby.

A lot of these Latinos in the USA act as if they own the Spanish language while Spaniards never act that way. I think in their minds ( and one can understand how this developed) there are two major cultures- the brown Spanish speaking Jose Rodrigues and the blind blue eyes English speaking John Smith.
This same thing happens to Spaniards in the US and Argentines- these are

Gringos

Bwahahaha!

Interesting. Why do Armenians have "beef" with American WASPs? That's like Kim Kardashian having issues with Taylor Swift or some sh*it.

Que interesante porque la mas tiempos que yo trato de hablar con latinas en Espanol ellas estan alegras... es claro que la mujer en su historia es una puta grande!

On that note, I wish I had far more opportunities to actually practice my languages... I'm studying my ass off in both Spanish and Portuguese but in Michigan there aren't a whole lot of opportunities to practice speaking with people lol...

Hit the nail right on the head.Latinos do think they own the Spanish language it is ridiculous. Some dumb ass women i was talking to online tried so suggest that Portuguese and Spanish is something that is only Latin American. When these languages are spoken as official languages in many African Countries. Most people don`t know that there is a Spanish speaking country in Africa. And they think that just because you are black that you don`t understand them.I had a friend from Angola Africa who spoke Portuguese as if native language but could understand and speak Spanish.

I love Mexicans. They are the sweetest people to me.
To be white or black - is to not be a human, but a living definition and label. To be a slave to definition, to fashion, to the industries that market us like cattle, emptying our pockets like the udders of the cow, being paid to cut our bodies for cosmetics, benefiting off of putting harsh chemicals on our heads, making money off of us choosing to live and participate in the reality they created. Don't be "black", don't be "white", don''t be "Asian", don't be "Latin." Destroy the illusion, become human.
