Feminist in South Korea

I remember visiting South Korea in 1995. Knowing what I know now and if I could go back in time I would of enjoy myself more in South Korea but I was too young to really understand.

I would visit South Korea every other year. I notice the changes in South KOrea. Korea became more and more like America and superficial.

Lookism is very big in South Korea and this applies to both men and women. Status and money too. There is also a metoo movement in South Korea . In other words feminism is growing in South Korea. There are Korean men that are actually looking overseas for wives. That's how bad it's getting. It's not as bad as America not yet but very soon.

As a Korean American I find it disappointing because I see feminism as cancer. I don't believe in violence towards women. I do believe in treating women fairly BUT I believe women and men are too different and have different standards. I also think that for 1000's of years society thrived on traditional roles which we are meant for.

Anyway...this is just rant.

I remember in 1999 violence against women being pretty much the norm in Korea. Beating your wife/gf didn't really seem to be a big deal and was ignored by the police. A lot of the feminists there hate men, but there is definitely more male privilege in Korea than in the US.

I dont condone violence towards women but I dont believe in feminism either. South korea is rapidly changing towards more like USA.

I remember when I was a kid visiting south Korea. I saw a teacher beating a student in school yard. This was maybe 1980s . My cousin acted as if this was normal behavior.

If you met korean students back than. They don't do lip service like they do today. I'm not saying that's the way to go but just maybe sometimes the old way is better.

Sigh, I believe I witnessed the death of the fine old tradition of beating the crap out of students during my time there.

I usually don't agree with allot stuff you right but I realize as I'm getting older I notice that in countries that haven't become too westernize or become 1st world status still do corporeal punishment. And yes typical in those countries women rights are not as strong. Think of any third world countries . In those countries they would beat the wives or even have corporal punishment for misbehave kids.

A part me thinks the problem in the west is that it became too permissive and that everyone feels too entitled to everything. Feminist demands this but will use the women card when it benefits them. Kids act out with out any real consequence. Sometimes a good smacking does work.

I am looking for a 3rd Aviation Detachment, Tague, South Korea from the mid 1970s. The patch had a knight on a hourse that was up on its hind legs and the knight had his sword extended in the air. Has anyone seen one?
