If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
I have an unusual question I've been wondering about. If everyone loves sex then why is sex so darn hard to get in America and NE Asia?
As you know psychologists and advertisers in America say that everyone is obsessed with sex and likes sex. Nearly all American women claim they love sex as much as men do (yet how would they know if they've never been a man? They must be talking out of their ass out of ego.) Psychology magazines say that men have a sexual thought every 8 seconds. And advertisers know that sex sells.
So how can sex be so hard to get in America and prudish cultures in NE Asia? I mean u can't just go out and try get sex like an animal in the wild sending out mating calls like you see in wildlife documentaries. Lol. If u do u will be seen as a creep and pervert and criminal. Especially in liberal states like Washington and California. You aren't even allowed to signal an interest in females like animals do in the wild, which is natural. Its criminal behavior in America to do that unless the woman signals interest in you FIRST. The woman must initiate first but if she never does then you are out of luck. You can't do anything about it. So how are men supposed to get sex or even dates?
Also if women love sex as much as men do then why arent they eager and willing for it all the time like horny men are? Why are they picky and hard to get and are not as eager to have sex like horny males are? Doesn't make sense.
Also how come sex is a taboo subject among acquaintances? You can only talk about it with close friends. Otherwise its taboo and inappropriate. How can that be if everyone loves sex as psychologists and advertisers claim?
Isnt this an odd contradiction and paradox? Any of you wonder about this before too?
I mean it's kind of like saying, everyone loves good food but food is hard to get and if u go out and try to get it, you're a criminal and creep. That wouldn't make sense. So why is that the case with sex? I don't get it. Very confusing.
Also why do people in media and TV and movies act like sex is easy to go out and get? As if it were akin to going to McDonald's and getting a big mac? Something easy and routine yet in reality it is not like that at all. They also assume that everyone has a wife or woman at home waiting for them that they can have sex with anytime too. Why?

Good points, in American made TV shows and movies it makes it look like every guy is getting laid everyday. Also your right, in the USA a man is not supposed to flirt with women or start a conversation with a woman unless she shows interest in him first. The woman must initiate interest first and if she never does, you are shit out of luck!

This type of stuff is never talked about in the main stream media for some reason.

Re: If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
Some men can go out and get random sex with women. These are men known as "chads." Chads are about 20% of the male population.
Nobody on this forum is a chad, we are average guys. Nowadays, 66% of college age men did not have any sex in the previous year. Only 34% of the men had any sex. By comparison, about 50% of the women did. This is despite the fact that there are 50% more women in college now then men. The math comes out to this.
1 million male college students = 340,000 sexually active men in college.
1.5 million female college students equals 750,000 sexually active women.
340,000 men are sleeping with 750,000 women. I suspect it is more likely that 200,000 men are sleeping with 600,000 women and that the rest of the sexually active student body is in monogamous relationships.
If everybody in college was monogamous, then the percentage of sexually active young men would jump up to 75%. Strict monogamy alone would change college campuses dramatically from an environment where only an elite group of men have active sex lives to one where a clear majority of students could. It is also very well possible that the environment of strict monogamy would encourage some of the 50% of women who are not sexually active to start being sexually active which could raise the percentage of college men with active sex lives even higher.
@Winston I don't really understand why you simultaneously advocate for traditional type societies without any feminism alongside advocating for free sexuality and essentially taking the sexual revolution even further then it has already gone. This is the mistake that too many men keep making. They think "huh, why am I not getting any sex despite everybody telling us we live in a sexually liberated society? It must be because we're still too conservative about sex, we need to truly sexually liberate ourselves! Then I'll get laid!"
Yet this strategy never works. Ever time sexual liberation gets more extreme, the average guy becomes even lonelier and more deprived. You guys think this is because the sexual revolution didn't go far enough or something along those lines. Its not, the sexual revolution is doing what it intended to do. The sexual revolution was never about you, the average guy. The sexual revolution has always been for women who want to f**k chad, and for chad to f**k as many women as he wants. Meanwhile, both groups dangle the idea of "sexual liberation" to average chumps hoping they'll be stupid enough to advocate for even more sexual liberation while getting increasingly deprived and sex starved.
Sex is hard to get because women are so privileged now that they will only accept having sex with the top 20% of men, or with other women (because bisexuality is accepted now too). Think about what your attitude towards life would be if literally hundreds of beautiful women were throwing themselves at you every day trying to get into your pants and you now have an idea of what life looks like for the average woman in America. On Tinder, they can literally accumulate 1,000 matches in a matter of days. I have seen it with girls I've known myself.
It is not surprising that many women become unbearably entitled in such an environment. Men would become unbearably entitled too if given the same privileges. Women now have no interest in f***ing average looking guys because chads are manwhores and will sleep with both hot girls and average girls. Chads are basically the only men who are living the same lives as women. Their attitude towards sex practically alien compared to ours.
I assure you though if you talk to these men, you'll have no doubt that we live in a sexually liberated society. Its actually nauseating how women behave around them, random women grabbing their junk, taking them into bathrooms and sucking their dicks, having threesomes/group sex with them, girls tell me these kind of guys don't even bother with cleverness or nuance anymore they just walk up to girls and ask for sex or threesomes or whatever.
Your advocating for sexual liberation enables this social system that we have. Advocating for sexual liberation enables certain men and women to live like its Caligula's palace while the rest of us are starved of sex.

Where do you get that nearly all American women say that?Winston wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2022, 1:57 pmI have an unusual question I've been wondering about. If everyone loves sex then why is sex so darn hard to get in America and NE Asia?
As you know psychologists and advertisers in America say that everyone is obsessed with sex and likes sex. Psychology magazines say that men have a sexual thought every 8 seconds. And advertisers know that sex sells.
And if they love sex as much as men, maybe they love sex two or three times a week just with a specific kind of man, just as much as a young man might like sex every night.
You mean you cannot show your colorful behind in public to attract some attention in those liberal states like baboons do? I figured that sort of thing would be more welcome in liberal states. You are starting to sound like Mercury. Do you think he lives in Washington instead of in some fictional dystopia? So how can sex be so hard to get in America and prudish cultures in NE Asia? I mean u can't just go out and try get sex like an animal in the wild sending out mating calls like you see in wildlife documentaries. Lol. If u do u will be seen as a creep and pervert and criminal. You can't do anything about it. So how are men supposed to get sex or even dates?
Anyway, I think you are exaggerating. I haven't been to Washington since I was a toddler, and maybe 20 years ago I spent a few days in California. But it doesn't seem that way on TV, even the non-fiction media about actually treating picking up women being a crime. I'd imagine you'd have to really be aggressive with it, and maybe film it and some teens like one of our posters to get legal issues with it.
I'm not hearing they love it as much. There are probably a certain number of women on one side of the bell curve whose frequency matches the preference of young men. Someone could really, really like something or think they do, but indulge in it rarely. A woman could also love getting her house work (or watching soap operas while eating twinkies) a whole lot more. Also if women love sex as much as men do then why arent they eager and willing for it all the time like horny men are? Why are they picky and hard to get and are not as eager to have sex like horny males are? Doesn't make sense.
I hear there are married men who watch porn all the time, do stuff to themselves, and don't touch their wives. It does not make sense. It causes marriage problems. Often this is associated with porn addiction. Do they love sex? Also how come sex is a taboo subject among acquaintances? You can only talk about it with close friends. Otherwise its taboo and inappropriate. How can that be if everyone loves sex as psychologists and advertisers claim?
Movies and TV tend to be unrealistic to try to entertain audiences. Teens call their parents by their first names in movies a lot. If the kids were raised by their parents, have you seen this? Do you know any kid raised with his dad who calls him "Homer" except Bart Simpson. They want to promote this idea of teens being rebellious, maybe because the writers were or wished they were liked that or something stupid like that. Why?
It's a good thing real life isn't like these movies. There are already enough STD's and illegitimate kids broken hearts and broken people with all the rampant fornication going on as it is. There are men with kids from multiple women and women with kids from multiple men, people who've gone through multiple divorces, or had kids without the benefit of marriage. It's a bit mess in our society. If everyone were hooking up after 30 seconds of flirting like they show on TV and movie screens, then society would be even more warped.
Re: If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
Well that's the point. The sexual liberation doesn't make sex easier to get in America, but harder. So it's a paradox. I like some traditional values but also a bit of freedom too. There has to be a balance. Nothing makes sense in America. Everything seems like a paradox. I am not advocating for women's sexual liberation. Where is the sexual liberation of men? How come a man can flirt freely in Russia and Latin America without feeling like a criminal but he cannot in America or super repressed countries like Taiwan and Japan?Outcast9428 wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2022, 11:11 pm@Winston I don't really understand why you simultaneously advocate for traditional type societies without any feminism alongside advocating for free sexuality and essentially taking the sexual revolution even further then it has already gone. I am advocating for men's sexual liberation of course, not that every guy should be free to be a playboy. But that men should be able to flirt and signal interest in women, which is natural, like you can in Russia or Latin America, and which men were able to do in the 60s and 70s. I am advocating for a society that is social and natural, not for any "artificial liberation" that is in words only, but not reality and that only favors women and has no advantage for men. It's hard to define sexual liberation because it's just talk. It's an excuse for women to get away with anything while restricting and repressing men. Nothing makes sense in America and nothing is straightforward. If there is a sexual revolution then why can't we just go out and get sex like getting a Big Mac at McDonald's? Where's the liberation? Especially if flirting is a taboo? I don't get it.
What I mean is that men should be able to go out and hit on girls and try to pick up girls, etc like they could in the 1960s and 1970s and like they can do today in Latin America or Russia or the Philippines. That's my main point. I don't know what the term "sexual liberation" means or how it relates to this. It's just a pseudo term that has no meaning.

What do you mean regarding Washington state? I've had the cops called on me there, and security guards too, for flirting and asking for a girl's phone number. It is definitely vilified there and considered creepish taboo behavior. Have you been living under a rock MrMan? Why do you argue just for the sake of arguing? Do you not care about the truth? I lived in WA for years and I know what I saw and experienced.
Flirtation is natural, so why is it taboo in America? That's the question. The US may not say that exactly, but you can feel it. Go out and try flirting with girls in the US and you will see what I mean. Go and try it.
A social more is something you can FEEL. It doesn't need to be written on the wall. For example you are always supposed to smile and say you are doing great in America. It's not spelled out on the wall, but everyone knows it because we can all feel the social culture around us by instinct. You can feel where it's taboo to flirt and where it is not, it doesn't need to be spelled out. You just know it from the vibes around you. You know that right? You are a real human right? lol
Even asking a girl out is seen as a taboo behavior. You aren't allowed to signal interest in a girl unless she signals interest FIRST. We all know that and can feel that. It doesn't need to be written on the wall. We can FEEL it. Can't you? Are you human?
Suppose I know a girl next door that I like. Or a girl who is a daughter of friends of my family, and I like her. What can I do about it? If I ask her out, it feels like crossing the line or boundary. It feels like a VIOLATION. So what can you do? In Russia or Latin America a guy can woo and romance and court a girl he fancies, it's NORMAL there. Why can't you do that in America? How come movies show that you can but in real life you can't??????? Why the constant contradictions everywhere? Makes me wonder whether reality is real or not.

Re: If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
I know I'm influenced by Victorian mores a little, but there is just no woman I'd ask that question to in real life except maybe my wife, but since she's married to me, I know the answer would be 'no.' Girls can talk about that kind of stuff with other girls. Am I going to ask my pregnant married co-worker that? That other co-worker? Any of the other female co-workers? No. My mom? Neighbor? No. I don't hear women say that. Maybe rarely joking about how some man wants it all the time, or more rarely not wanting it. I do not mind talking about sex for a noble purpose, even in mixed company. I write about it here to discourage immorality and to help young men who post here value marriage, a real relationship, and lifetime commitment. But talking about sex in mixed company, or in general, can be a little uncomfortable.
I'm not sure why you are going loggerheads. I thought you posted stuff like this to discuss. I asked if Washington was a dystopia like Mercury's posts describe, and said I hadn't been there since I was toddler. I don't get from what media I've seen (which has some fiction element) that California is that uptight. And it doesn't seem to align with being ultra liberal, though I hear people in the Pacific Northwest are really weird about privacy, that they'd leave the beach if they saw anyone else at all nearby.
I'm married. I'm friendly all the time. I was friendly at Burger King to the hefty black lady. She asked me something about how it was when it was over, and I thought, is she flirting, did she think I was flirting. But I don't flirt to extract sexual interest. I'm married. I caught myself being really friendly with a pretty Indonesian girl several years ago. She said I was funny. Then I wondered if I was instictively flirting because she was pretty and scaled it back. She seemed nice. She got engaged soon afterward. I don't plan to flirt. I can try to be friendly to male or female, but don't want to 'flirt' with women like you suggest.Flirtation is natural, so why is it taboo in America? That's the question. The US may not say that exactly, but you can feel it. Go out and try flirting with girls in the US and you will see what I mean. Go and try it.
When I've been in the midwest or especially parts of the South, you can be friendly and strike up conversations with strangers. Hawaiians are okay about this. I haven't spent a lot of time in parts of time in the US in places where you can't be friendly and strike up conversations with strangers without getting a nasty look. I did ask a college-aged white girl at a bus stop for the time in Hawaii. She was pretty with curly hair and probably thought I was hitting on her. She had this attitude when she answered me, like some people talk about in the forum. Maybe she was from the west coast.
There might be a line, a wobbly one in parts of Virginia that goes up to somewhere in Pennsylvania just west of Philly and if you cross that, you start getting the attitude. I don't know if it would include New Hampshire or Vermont. I do know some nice people from there, but they are Christians, conservative home school types and probably not typical. Maybe there is a line in Washington and Oregon when you get to the east of all those gun-toating conservatives in the country that wish their land was in Idaho, and there might be another bubble of unfriendliness in California and Nevada which excludes those red counties in the North of California. Is it friendly when you get up past San Francisco into some of the wet farm territory up there?
It's pronounced with a 'z.' Doesn't it have to have an s? I'm not sure.A social more is something you can FEEL.
You feel it if you are engrained enough in the culture. Some people don't get it, have asbergurs, or just don't care about convention and can't feel it.
We pick up on cues, body language, maybe even on emotions exuding from other people. But like I said, I haven't spent time in Washington since I was a kid.It doesn't need to be written on the wall. You are a real human right? lol
I'm human. I don't live in Washington and I am not hitting on women. I'm married. So I just look at stuff around me, and I'm not asking girls out myself and feeling rejection.Even asking a girl out is seen as a taboo behavior. You aren't allowed to signal interest in a girl unless she signals interest FIRST. We all know that and can feel that. It doesn't need to be written on the wall. We can FEEL it. Can't you? Are you human?
But I haven't notice this rule in the parts of the US I have been in. It could be that women might send this signal to __you__ but not to __me__ for some reason.

When I was 20-something in Indonesia, either Indonesians liked me better or I finally woke up to cues. I was also at prime marrying age with a decent income in a marrying culture where 20-somethings are serious about looking. I was counting up in my mind the number of girls whose signals I picked up on or who did weird stuff like send a present home to my mom at Christmas, little comments that signal interest. Then there was a crazy stalker girl following me around saying she loved me, strong flirtation from a flat salesgirl when I went to shop, and all kinds of stuff. I think my looks fit some cultural expectation for girls who liked white guys. There, I don't think I felt like it was a violation to ask anyone out.
I would have been uncomfortable asking such a girl out, like it would be weird later... but some kind of violation of trust, etc. If you slept with her or something among the Christians I hang out with that's a violation. It might have felt like crossing a socially uncomfortable line, but not like a moral violation. Asking the few girls out that I did happened after I developed a little boldness and confidence.Suppose I know a girl next door that I like. Or a girl who is a daughter of friends of my family, and I like her. What can I do about it? If I ask her out, it feels like crossing the line or boundary. It feels like a VIOLATION. So what can you do?
Me too probably changed the dynamic a little. But I think it probably hit the liberal places more where there are a lot of left-winger protestor type people who get angry about faux 'social justice' causes without realizing how stupid they are, and blow some little thing up into some big social justice issue, when it's a little normal thing.
I think young men get around this by asking girls to hang out. If he likes her he asks her to hang out. But she doesn't know if its a friend zone thing. And if she doesn't like him, she might not consider that he likes her. So they can just keep 'hanging out' stuff until somehow it gets clarified. I told my wife we'd be 'just friends' when I called her, but ended up seeing her all the time taking her out to dinner every night until I felt like I was lying if I didn't tell people she was my girlfriend. Indonesians can say they are 'just friends' until they are married, I found out later. We were both virgins on purpose, so the movie narrative that sex changed the dynamic of the relationship was something that wouldn't work for us-- an immoral story line. That dynamic change happened after marriage, but the interest, love, and life-time commitment was clear at that point.
If the girl likes the guy before he asks her out, or she decides soon thereafter that she likes him, he probably can.In Russia or Latin America a guy can woo and romance and court a girl he fancies, it's NORMAL there. Why can't you do that in America? How come movies show that you can but in real life you can't??????? Why the constant contradictions everywhere? Makes me wonder whether reality is real or not.

Re: If everyone loves SEX then why is SEX so hard to get? Weird paradox.
@Winston If you make it socially acceptable to be flirtatious with random girls then guys will be playboys. Latin America has extremely high levels of promiscuity.
A true traditional culture pairs people up through matchmaking, done either through friends, parents, co-workers, or professionals. Matchmaking accomplishes four major objectives...
1. It is extremely helpful for shy, reserved, and kind of awkward guys who cannot flirt or approach random women.
2. It reduces promiscuity by forcing dating to be a serious matter rather then the obsessively casual nature of European and American dating.
3. Putting parents and friends in charge of the matchmaking process significantly reduces the likelihood of girls choosing or ending up with bad boy types. In pickup cultures, bad boys benefit the most, because they are the most reckless and arrogant and do not fear girls thinking they are creepy or aggressive.
4. It significantly reduces the chance of adultery because singles are always matching up with singles rather then random men approaching girls who could be in a relationship.
