An unfortunate event I witnessed Monday afternoon...

Post by The_Hero_of_Men »

Here where I live (a shelter) I was sitting in front of the chapel reading a book, when I glanced over to the mess hall line where I saw this man lightly shove this older man. Now, I thought that they were just horsin' around cause they were friends, until I glanced down a little... and even at that distance, I could see that the older man had his Johnson out and was pissing on the ground. Needless to say, there were a lot of witnesses present who saw this. As far as I no, no children saw that. This dude doesn't even deserve to be called a worthless bum! This dude is lower than a worthless bum; nothing more than an animal (occupying a human body). If there were no consequences for me doing this, I would have gone up to him and decked his sorry ass, cause pissing in public like that JUST ISN'T DONE, especially in an area where children are bound to be!!

I believe relieving oneself in public is not the problem. I believe Hero is speaking of is that the man did it in a wide open space in front of other people which I think he believes was not PC (Public Correctness?) for people (and possibly children) to see.

I do agree that relieving oneself in Public is not a big deal. US has strict laws about it but usually I go into a bush or dark place to do it and then go back to business (if I have to use the bathroom and none are around me).

I am currently glad though I am not in the US (pain in the butt). I saw a boy who had his mother help him do his business (he was 5 I believe young boy). I was a little shocked but I think that since he was a young boy most people (in Europe except Anglophone UK & Ireland) do not care about such things as some people need to go.

Also the guy who was homeless(?) can attest that he was not in his right mind. I do not think he is a low human. It honestly sucks not having a home/job. He probably cannot use a normal bath usually unless he is part of a Homeless Shelter.

1. Pissing in public in US can get u in big trouble depending on circumstances. Last time I was in Florida, I met a Canadian (lots stay in our condo development) that one of good friends and country mates got banned from returning for the same reason. Cops arrested him in the act, he ended up with some sort of record (perhaps just a n arrest record) and now he can no longer get a tourist visa because of it.

2. Attitudes in much of Asia, esp. China, tend to be much more lax about such behavior. Public toilets are frequently set-up so people going to the girls room pass right by open urinals, sometimes while they are being used. I don't think its traumatized any children yet. Inside Chinese airports, I've seen mothers take their kids to any conveniently located potted plant and let him or her do their business in plain view. In Taipei, I even remember seeing a dude once in Wanhua (one of the grittier districts) take a piss mid-afternoon on a public sidewalk in the middle of passers-by. I'm sure a lot of people figured he had a problem but nobody freaked-out. They just gave him a wide berth as they walked around him.

Rock, I meant that I think it is not out of the ordinary but I did say that the US is strict about public urination. I guess I should have been more specific.

However, I am glad that I am not in the US right now. Too much of a headache.

Yes, I stay in a Shelter, and THAT is where this incident happened, in front of the chow hall here. The animal in question (like I said, he doesn't even deserve to be called a worthless bum) is (WAS) a resident here. I speculate that he got kicked out after that incident, after Security got a hold of him.

@ The Arab

The problem with that is as follows: This creature did it out in the open, where CHILDREN could have seen him. You know, CHILDREN, those little things that can not take care of themselves?

Yes, I got your point. The only thing I don't agree with here is the traumatizing children bit in the OP. Like I mentioned, as a kid, your prolly going to see adults doing it sometimes here in Asia yet I see no evidence of children being affected by it. And children are generally well looked after in Chinese societies relative to their western counterparts I think.

The fact that a Canadian snowbird got banned from the US just for that simple infraction really amazes me.

May I ask where you live? I am just curious. I am going to have to seriously think about what you said...

It's pretty common in Latin America too. I'd say it's a bit like public breastfeeding. In the US, people freak out about it. But travel through Latin America and you'll see it all the time. And guess what? No one cares!!!
