This country is DEPRESSING!

Post by OTB »

We all know the US is a circus and the land of clones and robots. This is what makes this country so depressing. This is why I don't care about going out. I go grocery shopping and occasionally go to my buddies house and my mom's. Other than that I'm home. I'm immediately stricken with a wave of depression when I go out. New Jersey is a depressing state. I just hate even going anywhere. I'm surrounded by fake, robotic people who follow what they see. They are so predictable in so many ways. It seems like everyone is a robot and the scary part is that they're not even aware that they are sheep. I'm just sick of this place.

I never understood why people live in the craphole they call New Jersey or as New Yorkers like to refer to it--the Garbage State. Granted, New York isn't all that better, but at least you have some semblance of culture and excitement here. The truth is, any place in the States is the same: the same boring suburban neighborhoods, the same strip malls and the same brand name stores, the same Walmart's and McDonald's, the same bitchy females and unhappy men, the same attitudes and patriotic garbage that makes me want to puke. You'll have to leave the country to experience life in a whole new way.

As I have mentioned before, a man's best shot of having a decent life, if you are stuck in the US, is to get a job in San Diego and live in Tijuana. You can cross the border relatively quickly with a Sentri Pass. That way you are out of the US, but still working there. Tijuana is a large city with plenty of culture and things to do and nightclubs to meet women. And I guarantee that it won't feel like New Jersey.

Don't even get me started on new jersey i live in philly right across the Delaware river from that shit hole they call Camden N.J. and i swear that is the worst town i have ever been in and even that is a understatement. My buddy's car got broken into over there and we only left it for 20 minutes, windows smashed out and everything. There is nothing in Camden but abandoned buildings and crack heads.I had a job that required me to travel to and work in Camden and Trenton.I hate new jersey. The only thing i like about new jersey is Atlantic city and that is just going there for a day or spending the night and coming back home.

As for the u.s of gay being depressing in general it is and i thought i was the only one who felt depressed about it.I don't go out either and if i do i rarely hang out with americans. There was even a time where the social scene in america was at least some what entertaining even if you couldn't get a girl you could at least see some action or meet some cool guys to hang with but those days have vanished and i think it started when the economy starting taking a nose dive. And face book getting popular.

Just the idea of going out is depressing especially the idea of talking with american women.I don't even want them in my circle period. And i hate working with them.
se eu soubesse o que eu sei hoje, teria mando mulheres americanas para foder-se há muitos anos.que deus abençoe o brasil!

What makes this country so depressing is American women and their reluctance to make a guy feel like a man. At least in my opinion. And this is especially true on the weekends when, let's face it, single healthy men generally want some tail. Nothing is more depressing than knowing that this country's entire female populace would rather get inebriated and grope their female friends at a noisy bar than to be on a date with a man. This country is depressing for a lot of reasons, but I'd say that the confused lesbos whom we've come to call "women" in this country take the cake by a mile.

I hear you bro. Lots of guys feel the same way and suffer in silence. You aren't the only one. Dang. I didn't know New Jersey was that bad. Is there at least any nice scenery there? Aren't the senior citizens at Denny's and in public parks friendly to talk to at least?

In the US, I don't feel any motivation to go out either. It just feels pointless, cause nothing is gonna come of it. Plus, something in the US makes everyone feel insecure deep down inside. It's hard to put a finger on why. Everyone feels it and has to mask it by pumping up artificial fake confidence, or some other way. I talked about this in my interview yesterday.

You need an inner life to balance an outer life with. That way, if your outer life sucks, at least you have an inner life. Without an inner life, it's easy to get depressed.

I experienced something strange last night. I went into the city centre, and the "ice barriers" that usually exist between people were completely gone. When I got on the bus, everyone was interacting between eachother like there were no groups and you couldn't tell which people actually knew eachother, even though many people got off at different stops; just like how it's meant to be in certain less developed countries. On this one day of the year, it's as if the social barriers just collapsed. Women were even making eye-contact with me in the street and I was able to talk to some of them. This is very unusual for here, usually the atmosphere is similar to New York; no sense of connectedness between people. There are some factors that would add to this; more people were out than usual, people were more intoxicated than usual and there was a higher ratio of Irish people to foreigners, but this is still not enough to signal such a huge change.

Since the St.Patrick's day celebrations are had in various cities in the US, I wonder did this phenomenon also occur where any of you are? Or does it occur on any other particular day of celebration in the year? From my experience of New York I couldn't picture it in a million years.

Move to California or Florida, but even that will get boring after 2 years.
I actually did with my best buddy back in August of 2002. We were living in the desert of Lancaster Antelope Valley. We moved out there to get away from this place, we loved the vibe, the versatile terrain of California and also to go to school. We wanted to get our residency then start school in September of 2003. However, things didn't work out the way we expected so we moved back. Now Florida, I like south Florida and the upside of being there is that it's close to Latin America. But I prefer California. California resonates with my personality. I always said if I decide to stay in the US, which is very unlikely, California will be my next home provided I have a decent paying job to survive there. I'm just done with the country.

Yes this is very true. Even though New Jersey is considered one of the wealthiest states in the US it's a ghetto state, in my opinion, with the exception of a few affluent cities that make it one of the wealthiest states. The people in this state make me reclusive. Walmarts, malls, and restaurants just irritate me. Going out anymore is just depressing. You find the same type of people; sloppy looking women, slutty looking women, ghetto and attention seeking men and women. In the suburbs you find more refined, educated people but the majority like I said carry themselves in a very low class manner. I'm SICK OF IT!!!
The truth is, any place in the States is the same
I agree. This is why I want out. California is the exception as I stated because it feels very versatile with cosmopolitan cities and it just feels foreign. But the social disconnectedness gives it that same American vibe that makes it no different than NY, Chicago, or Philadelphia. Yeah people are more laid back but meeting women is still a "task." It's an awesome place but I'm looking for culture, social connectedness, and friendly opened women.

That's good advice. I hear Tijuana is not so safe. But that's from what I've heard. I would need to check it out myself. Thanks for the advice.

8) I used to live in the desert area of california and there is 30 percent plus unemployment there. becoming the next detroit of usa. High taxes High gas, gas is 75 cents cheaper in arizona and the living cost are 200 a month in mobile rv parks. California will probobly be bankrupt if the solar projects dont dont pull them through but with industry leaving that state is in a lot of trouble. The state has been focused on lakers basketball for years while the economy went in the trash and insudtry is leaving while the ranks of the unemployed and welfare reciepients grows n leaps and bounds. This is one reason foreign women like us husbands there is no child support and alimony there and they know who brings home the bacon.

Just the other day I was talking to a 40ish hot Korean woman who owns a store and I said a little something to her in Korean which got us talking.

Story short, she told me how BORING the United States is and that she was excited about my plans to get out of this country to travel and maybe even visit Korea. She said you can have lots of fun in Korea and that you don't need a car to get everywhere because Korea is so small.

I met another young Korean woman who said the same thing. She said even if you're poor in Korea, you still have a life because you have lots of family and friends.

Anyhow, and on a personal note, I'm with Eurobrat that California is a more exciting place to live because you have Las Vegas, surfing, custom cars, hot chicks from all around the world, USC/UCLA, playing in the desert with sand rails or dirt bikes, snowboarding in Big bear, lake havasu, going to TJ, Hollywood..bla bla bla.

But the problem is, after a while you do get bored if you're more intellectuality inclined because even though you're doing all these fun things with people, there is no real intimacy or deep connection between California people.

It's hard to explain, but even though West Coast people are very personable, they're not all that interested in getting to know who you really are as a person. They only care about how much money you make, and what kind of things you buy to have fun; anything more then that, they really just don't care, so in the end you will still feel alone even though you have lots of "friends."

As far as NJ I hate the place; even pretentious towns like Cape May that I was just in.

A beach town like Cape May/Wildwood is the pinnacle of waste to me because most of the town goes unused for the fall and winter.

I just don't understand it. Why buy a 2nd home that you don't even rent out for rental income all just to say you have a 2nd home by the shore that you use only for a few weeks of the year. It's ridiculous. People should LIVE down there (why can't we in the computer age?) and not hog up the real estate!

And hell, you want to talk about boring. Nothing is more boring then all the guys I see taking their nagging women and kids to Wildwood EVERY YEAR. I would go out of my mind if I had to do it!

BTW, I have been to Wildwood twice and I will NEVER return! The place is a dump, the food served is crappy unhealthy food that is making us all sick, the beach/water looks dirty and depressing, and the people all look rundown and trashy like they live in a trailer park.

By the way, NJ is a landfill. Every time I use to drive into the NJ I would go by the huge landfills. I believe this is why NY'ers call it the garbage state; NJ is literally used as a landfill for NJ and NY; at least back in the 80's.

I saw a video about this gang called the "SMM Crew" in Camden. SMM stands for Sex, Money and Murder. I have never been so ashamed to be an African in my life when I saw this. These guys are just wannabe West Coast Gangbangers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lN3-8aRrOY

The problem is now days if guys are not at work, or with their GF's, they are at home playing Xbox, PS3, watching endless movies on their flat screens, or they are watching porn; which as a result, takes away any incentives to go out and socialize with people.

It's crazy, a guy would rather sit home alone and play a bowling game on PS3 then actually play a game of bowling in REAL LIFE.

I was in a night club district over the weekend I only saw the following boring scenarios:

• Married/long term lovers.
• Groups of drunk guys (who want to get laid) with no girls.
• Groups of pretentious slutty girls falsely advertizing themselves (all while ignoring the guys).

In other words, the American night life seems to be an ordeal where men and women have fun within the vicinity of each other, but they never actually have fun with each other.
