Just to further add to the rat-racing shallow consumerist culture of America, the Western world, and even Asian countries that emulate the West, that Winston had already gratuitously pointed out.
People are so obsessed about going to the top institutions that they are subjecting their children to such pain at increasingly younger ages - even to kindergarten age. I used to think that Harvard-tier selective kindergarten with soul-crushing fees are a joke...until a friend made me Google it.

I can't believe this shit is happening in America - no, wait. It's happening in the UK too. And China, and Japan - and wherever else materialistic rat-racing culture lays its dirty hands on.

Apparently rich parents got rich without even realizing that being smart is about you instead of about your degree. That most of the highly successful entrepreneurs are either self-taught or went to regular schools. That countess statistics had shown that Ivy League applicants who were rejected are equally successful as those who are accepted. That top schools grads are successful because of their own abilities, not because of the brand name of their degree.
I do understand the deal about going to the best schools to learn something complex like pure math, or...or engineering. Or medicine. But........KINDERGARTEN CURRICULUM!? OH MY GAWD!!!! $36,870 A YEAR JUST TO HAVE SOMEONE TEACH YOUR KID HOW TO COUNT!!!!!
Thankfully there are also bloggers who share my thought on how utterly ridiculous today's society mindset had become.
