I see these advertisements for Christianmingle.com, BlackPeopleMeet.com, Farmersonly.com, all this crap about finding someone to love on the friggin' internet. The idea of online dating didn't used to bother me but now it pisses me off so much every time I see them. Just like most things in America, it is not about solving any problems but about making a profit. Hell, I used to go to plentyoffish.com when I was in my darkest hour and I was tired of sending out e-mails to attractive women that were obviously flooded with messages. When I got tired of that I went out and found people to be cruel and uninteresting but at least I went out and saw that for myself instead of being in front of a screen waiting for e-mails. At some point I could no longer tolerate this society and I went to Costa Rica to do volunteer work. Within the first day or two the difference was substantial because I wasn't talking to people who were disengaged and miserable. Leaving the country was the only solution that worked because people saw my worth inside and outside. If you want to find love you have to leave your house and yeah, leave your own borders. I am sick of everything being on the internet. People sit next to each other and communicate through texting, people have more facebook friends than they do real life friends. We are more machine now than human beings that communicate naturally.

I feel depressed right now because I am tired of all of our relationships being trivialized into pixels. Our human needs are trivialized as business commodities.

Online dating has been dead for a while now and it's golden days are long gone.

I would skip online dating entirely if I were you.

I live in Texas and I am trying to complete my hours in massage therapy so I can start a career. Then I'll have money to travel somewhere more enlightened.

I think it's unlikely most expats will immediately establish a social network that they can meet women in. This is where an online way to meet people comes into play.

Meeting attractive women IS hard work. Online dating is only a tool. I've met some awesome women on dating sites. Once you friendzone some then you can also explore their network of friends.

I agree, online dating is a complete waste of time, it's best to meet people face to face.

Studies have shown that most women who use online dating are either overweight or unattractive. You also have a great deal of single mothers using online dating.

Avoid online dating like the plague!
