I posted this in the conspiracy forum, and I realised this place would probably be best so I'm reposting here:
So we all know the USA has an all-volunteer army. And USA is pretty much the 'military' or 'muscle-man' for the elite (the ones who rule the world, as the conspiracy says) to carry out whatever evil plans. That's why they need to control people in USA through numerous methods, and keep them stupid.
I had a thought that popped into my head and I can't find the answer anywhere.
Poor people often tend to join the army for convenience or out of desperation for their inability to find a job in a horrible economy.
Do you think the government manipulates the economy on purpose to make more people enlist?
Is there any relationship between level of volunteer-military enlistment or is the thought completely ridiculous?
Thanks for reading
edit:
I found this article which briefly touched on the topic. It makes me think "ok so that's why college is so expensive, to make sure everyone graduates in debt and then can't get a job because of the horrible economy. So more skilled people enlist in the military. Then, the military can choose the best of the best, and they end up with the world's greatest military. USA as the muscle-man for the ultimate villain!"
what do you guys think?

Of course there is. When you have a private bank that controls the money supply, they can manipulate the economy at will and direct funding to defense spending, juicy war contracts and the military industrial complex. It is very reason I turned down any recruitment offer for any military branch, including OCS.
All wars are bankers wars. Service in the military = subservient pawn aka uncle sam's bitch. You are not fighting for "freedom" and the defense of this country anymore. Rather it is a fight to line the coffers of the elite banking cartels and push global American imperialism.
And as a sidenote, how the f**k is our Navy supposed to protect this country when we cannot even protect the Washington Navy Yard. Just goes to show you that our great American defense mightyness is all chest thumping.

See "Military Enlistment Opportunity Act of 2013". This act will allow non-US citizens who have resided legally in the US for 2 years the right to enlist in the US military.
For poorer immigrants, this is a path to a military career, steady pay, US citizenship, and military benefits. After being discharged, additional VA benefits in education, housing, healthcare, job placement, etc.
The US military has been able to meet its recruitment goals, but if they ever run short, they can always lower the barrier of entry.
In China, for example, the military wanted to recruit college graduates to rid itself of the "peasant army" image. They ended up rejecting 60% of the applicants because they did not meet the strict physical requirements. Some were rejected for poor eyesight, others were too fat or too thin, and in case of Chinese Navy, they wanted "tall, handsome, and polite" recruits for an image makeover, so they rejected short, ugly, and rude applicants. Obviously, if they were to lower these requirements, the rejection rate would be lower.
