Is this true about the US Military?
Is this true about the US Military?
I read the allegation that in order to retain combat veterans and prevent disgruntled veterans from attaining power in the civilian world, the military will often write negative accusations on their files such as they have paedophilic tendencies, are kleptomaniacs or whatever. This prevents them from getting any whorporate or government job, generally without them knowing why. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not? If so, this is arguably poetic justice for them joining the military in the first place. It is kind of a shame that it would effect those of high ability preferentially, but arguably that is even more poetic justice.

I grew up as an Air Force brat. Between my father, mother and myself, we have served in all four branches of the US military. In the military that I recall I can't even imagine such a thing.
Nowadays, I don't know. I do believe that Pat Tillman was murdered by American troops in Afghanistan, perhaps because he had scheduled a meeting with Noam Chomsky and could have become a prominent dissident against American policies.
This country produces a large majority of dishonorable people now who do dishonorable things. I would like to think that what you describe isn't a widespread thing -- more or less a policy -- but I can certainly imagine it happening at times, perhaps for a variety of motives.
But I just don't know.

AS GSjackson suggests this is probably used occasionally as retribution or as a preventative measure against someone who is thought to be a potential whistleblower or troublemaker. But very seldom I would guess.
Add to that, though, the way that masses of vets are being diagnosed with PTSD and encouraged to become dependent and undergo observation. The PTB are aware of how returning vets overthrew a Roman emperor or two - and crushed the Communist revolution in Germany. No doubt many vets ARE a mess, conflicted by what they saw. But they have also been put on a list of suspect groups by the PTB. This was "mainstream" news.

"Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
