Men who have no other options find heavy women attractive.

As the old saying goes: "The sexiest woman is the one who shows you interest."

So if fat women are the only ones showing interest, you'll find them attractive. Unless you know better.

This is sad but true. I know guys here in the US who are good looking and in great physical shape but the only women that show interest in them are the fatties.

Then, the think to themselves, "well, if this fat woman is the only woman who has ever flirted with me, I guess I will ask her for her number."

In their minds, a fat chick is better than no chick!

American men are just as likely to be fat as American women, if not more so.

You can't really just fault the female sex for getting fat, as if men aren't also getting fat.

Americans in general are too fat. Foreigners who come here from a lot of other countries expect us all to look like movie stars. Then they are disappointed to see that most of us either have or are at-risk for developing Dunlap's disease.

My guess is that stress knocks down self-esteem.

And with self-esteem comes low standards.

Note that both groups, stressed and unstressed, found thin hotties attractive. SO, ERGO, AU CONTRAIRE to the article's LEARNED findings, the stressed men did not SHIFT preferences to fatter women. They simply EXPANDED their menu, being to accept a WIDER variety of women.

They did not actually PREFER fatter women. They just were more willing to take ANY woman.

Another term for this is LOWERING YOUR STANDARDS.

So, I conclude, stress leads to low self-esteem, which leads to lower standards.

Maybe the stressed out men craved sexual release so much, they considered a wider range of women, including fat ones, to be attractive. Or maybe the correlation works the other way. If you like fat women, maybe that makes you stressed. Maybe these guys are stressed because they are afraid if they dance with their love-interests, their feet will be crushed, or they are stressed because they are afraid they can't or they have already tried carrying her over the threshold, and that's just scary.
